The group has expanded its publishing brands to a wider scope in recent years, encompassing Hypebeast and its multiple content distribution platforms, HBX, our e-commerce and retail platform, and Hypemaker, our global agency.

Responsibilities:

    • The duties can be separated into four main parts.

    • Merchandise strategic planning & business development
    • Set and lead the business strategy, objectives, initiatives and development for the merchandise department.
    • Build the product strategy and roadmap that drives innovation to the company and align to overall business growth opportunities.
    • Oversee budget, revenue forecasting and cost management with the internal project team.
    • Identity and drive any partnership and business opportunities that will drive the business growth of the merchandise department.

    • Business operations management
    • Build, structure and train the product team that align to the overall product strategy and roadmap.
    • Assist director reports with ongoing prioritization and resource allocation to ensure that crucial business initiatives are delivered.
    • Create clear and measurable goals and objectives for the team related to the creation of timely, high quality products that support business objectives.
    • Define clear outcomes, business targets and actionable recommendations for all the merchandise projects.

    • Product development
    • Work closely with global creative director, project team, internal and external stakeholders, vendors to drive project direction, ideation process, business planning to delivery.
    • Research and understand the cross-functional implications of business, product and project decisions and ensure the critical business objectives are considered.
    • Ensure that product specifications meet high standards and business goals for quality before approval and launch, guide the product managers to ensure the product specifications are well understood.
    • Ensure that all relevant parties and key stakeholders are informed of product status from concept through launch.

    • Go to Market Strategy planning
    • Work closely with project team and marketing plan to ideate, plan and execute the go to market strategy to ensure good business performance for all the merchandise projects.

Requirements:

    • Bachelor degree in business or relevant field.
    • 8+ years of working with business, creative, marketing and production team.
    • Entrepreneurial mix of visionary strategy development.
    • Exceptional business development, operations and people management skills.
    • Good understanding of our industry and culture.
    • Strong Portfolio of products and business development.
    • Good understanding of branding and marketing.
    • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management skills.
    • Have a thorough understanding of creative, branding and production process.
    • Be self-motivated and hardworking, able to work independently both effectively and efficiently.
