Job Description

An exceptional opportunity to learn or further your experience related to event management and event promotions, Campus Movie Fest (CMF) gives you an unparalleled, hands-on chance to dig into the inner workings of a traveling student film festival and competition. CMF tours college and university campuses all across the United States bringing students the opportunity to create their own 5-minute short films in one week.

Working with the CMF touring team on specific projects, you will have direct access to understanding and helping manage events on the tour. This includes working with students and staff at each school to promote the filmmaking opportunity as well as helping to manage our Info Session, Launch, Collection and Red Carpet Premiere events.
While a video production background is not required, there is an incredible opportunity to expand your filming and editing skills.

CMF also works with state-of-the-art technology companies like Prime Video, Adobe, and Panasonic to expose students to the latest in camera, audio, editing, and design opportunities. As part of the CMF internship, you will serve as a brand ambassador to promote these partnerships and have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the gear.

This position includes travel to our main office in Atlanta, Georgia, with the potential to tour many of our schools in California, West Virginia, Missouri, Virginia, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and more.

The company will cover all travel expenses, shared housing with the other tour members, and up to 60 meals while on tour. An additional $650.00 living stipend will be included each month. We also have morale budgets that allow you to do fun activities in each area of the country where your team will be stationed.

The fall semester internship will run from the first week of August through November, usually ending just before Thanksgiving.

Responsibilities

    • Develop and execute fresh marketing strategies unique to each CMF college and university campus
    • Engage students about technology in an outgoing, friendly manner, and assist students in making short films
    • Maintain CMF Facebook event pages, as well as Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts
    • Physical promotions including tabling, flyering, and class presentations
    • Help orchestrate the CMF Info Session, Launch, Collection and Premiere events
    • Create innovative ways to make CMF a greater success and add value to the students’ experience
    • Help book and confirm event space reservations and catering
    • Help track and manage valuable equipment
    • Interns must have a valid driver license and good driving record at the time of employment and the ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds


Background of Campus Movie Fest
For nearly 20 years, Campus Movie Fest (CMF) has been providing teams of students with cameras, laptops, support, and anything else they might need to create short movies in a week. The top films enjoy a campus-wide showcase at their school’s red carpet Premiere, giving masses of students the opportunity to share their story on the big screen. Four Jury Award-winning movies from each campus then move on to compete nationally at the CMF TERMINUS Festival in Atlanta, Georgia.

CMF started as a dream for a group of students at Emory University in 2001, realizing how the movie-making experience can foster learning, development, teamwork, and community. Since then, Campus Movie Fest has enabled students to create over 20,000 short films. CMF is the only event of its kind to provide all the necessary equipment (including laptops with editing software, HD cameras, microphones, and headphones) plus training and 24/7 technical support so students can create short movies that are shared with the world.
