Our company, National Retail Solutions (NRS), currently a wholly owned subsidiary of IDT Corporation, is revolutionizing the independent retail industry by providing them with cost-effective, state of the art point of sale systems and complementary services such as apps for store management and consumer orders, web storefront for the store, and loyalty programs allowing small retailers to more effectively compete with the larger store chains and online merchants. We are deployed in well over 20 thousand stores across the US at this time.
Our development team is in search of a candidate to take a lead development position to enhance our POS ecosystem in a selected target market. The ideal candidate possesses a can-do attitude, thrives in a fast-paced work environment, and is highly motivated to deliver software to production.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a full-stack development role
- Professional experience with: angular.js, vue.js frontend, and PHP with slim routing, node.js backend
- Implementing and documenting APIs using Swagger, HTML 3
- Professional experience using SQL for database access, and query performance optimization
- Understanding security best practices for implementation
- Experience with distributed source code control
- Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including documenting data flow
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group: clients, executives, managers, and coworkers
- Fluent in English
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Experience with Github, Jira, node.js, Lubuntu
- Experience with Postgres
- Working knowledge of Linux system administration
- Working knowledge of AWS services
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
What you will be doing:
- Enhancing existing, and creating new frontend and backend subsystems, and single-page web applications for our eco-system consisting of a Linux-based point-of-sale system, web portals, and mobile apps
- Working with the product manager on feature design
- Proposing and working with others on solution architectures
- Documenting feature architecture and implementation
