The Role
As a project manager for our teams, you will bring together a diverse team of Researchers, Data Scientists, Software & Systems engineers to facilitate the development of software solutions across multiple platforms that apply the results of cutting edge AGI research to meet the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with both internal and external stakeholders, initiate projects by defining and documenting project scope and requirements, determining budget and resource needs and creating project proposals
- Ensure software quality standards are met and requirements are submitted on time, within budget and with proper documentation according to approved proposals.
- Develop project plans and timelines and track, document and communicate project status with key stakeholders
- Identify and manage project risks
- Facilitate team meetings, encourage collaboration and motivate team members
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques
- Contribute to research publications and represent MBZUAI at industry conferences and events, showcasing the institution’s technology and deep learning capabilities and establishing MBZUAI as a global leader in AI research and innovation.
- Perform all other duties as reasonably directed by the line manager that are commensurate with these functional objectives.
Academic Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in information technology, software engineering, computer science, or other related field or the equivalent work experience.
Professional Experience - Minimum
- 5 years of experience in a relevant technical industry in end-to-end project, program or product management for software applications in a start-up, enterprise or academic setting.
- Proficiency in project management software, such as Jira and GitHub
- Good working knowledge of project estimation and risk management techniques for software applications
Professional Experience - Preferred
- Experience with AI applications and knowledge in AI and LLMs or Computer Vision is preferred
$200,000 - $350,000 a year
