Included Health is seeking a Vice President of Internal Audit to be a part of the Finance and Administration team reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (administrative) and to the Chair, Audit Committee (Direct). This role will own Internal Audit at Included Health. Leading a team, the right candidate will have to set the strategy and operating plans for various audits (financial, compliance, operational, and technology) and self-sufficiently manage the internal and external audit processes at Included Health.

Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Develop and oversee our Internal Audit program and strategy.
    • Oversee the detailed risk assessment and preparation of the annual audit plan to the Audit Committee for approval, which includes leading discussions with business leaders regarding audit planning and risk assessment.
    • Plan, organize, staff and direct all internal audit activities including development of a risk based audit scope in a manner that ensures coverage of the appropriate risks.
    • Conduct audit engagements and supervise the verifications performed by the team members.
    • Ensure internal audit results are prepared and communicated on a timely basis to influence positive change and increase the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls including opportunities for process improvements.
    • Participate in projects and transformational initiatives early to provide a proactive perspective on governance, risk management and controls.
    • Promote the use of data analytics as a means to innovate, adding value and improve risk assessment and analysis beyond effective and efficient execution of the audit plan.
    • Partner with several cross-functional teams such as Accounting, Compliance, Talent and Organization, Technology and Legal.
    • Ensure proper communication and relationship with the Audit Committee and Senior Management to ensure proper understanding of individual and collective responsibilities for corporate governance, risk management and controls oversight including fostering a relationship as “Trusted Advisor.”
    • Lead the development of policies, guidelines, and standards that ensures adherence to the Institute Internal Audit standards. Maintain a dialogue with industry colleagues, professional audit organizations and other firms, and keep abreast of Internal Audit standards and regulatory issues.
    • Ensure the promotion of the Company’s people management strategy to attract, retain and motivate the highest caliber of skilled professionals and a diverse workforce, and build a strong team of leaders and mix of talent that aligns with the organizational needs.

Required Skills/Abilities:

    • 15 years of experience in progressively senior roles with a control, operations and risk management mandate or alternative audit experience with a large public accounting or consulting firm.
    • Experience working with and presenting to Executive Management and Boards of Directors.
    • Prior experience working in high-growth, pre-IPO companies and/or industry experience in Technology or Healthcare preferred.
    • Experience in security and privacy, regulatory compliance, and/or SOX compliance, is a plus.
    • IT audit experience, preferably to include current standards (SOC 2) and future (ISO).
    • Strong project management and organizational skills.
    • Driving results - proactively seeks to improve processes and implement best-in-class solutions.
    • Holds self and others accountable for their commitments, providing clarity and counsel to avoid pitfalls.
