Job Description

The Legal Operations Specialist will lead the strategic and operational functions that support the Legal Division’s effectiveness and efficiency. This role is responsible for managing processes, systems, budgeting, vendor relationships, and legal technology to enable the Legal team to deliver high-quality legal services at scale. The Legal Operations Specialist is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and experienced in both project management and legal department operations. This is a full-time position with remote, hybrid and on-site opportunities available.

Responsibilities

    • Developing and implementing best practices, processes, and procedures to increase the efficiency of legal operations, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all legal functions
    • Leading the evaluation, implementation, and optimization of legal technology tools, such as contract management systems, e-billing software, and document management systems
    • Overseeing the Legal Division’s budget, including forecasting, tracking expenses, and managing relationships with external legal vendors and law firms
    • Analyzing the Legal Division metrics, providing insights and recommendations to improve productivity, cost-effectiveness, and overall performance
    • Assisting in the management and administration of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies
    • Working closely with internal divisions (e.g., Finance and Human Resources) to ensure alignment on legal matters and efficient workflows, and develop and deliver training to internal teams
    • Ensuring that all legal operations are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations and help manage risk mitigation strategies
    • Providing general administrative and clerical support

Requirements

    • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred
    • 3-5+ years of experience in legal operations, legal project management or related roles
    • Excellent analytical skills, with the desire for continuous improvement
    • Highly organized and detail oriented with ability to multitask and balance competing deadlines; possesses a track record of managing project plans, timelines, and deadlines to completion
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both verbal and written communications
    • A team player and self-starter
    • Ability to work independently and think critically
    • Tech savvy, experience with legal technology systems
    • Comfortable liaising with IT 
$80,000 - $95,000 a year
Pay
Based on the Sacramento region, the new hires minimum and maximum target salary for this role is $80k - $95k.

Inductive Automation’s ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Although it is not typical for an individual to start at the top end of the range for the position, compensation decisions are dependent on: the facts and circumstances of each case, work location, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training; and other business and organizational needs.
