Part-Time Reader (LA Preferred, CA required)

We’re looking for enthusiastic, well-written, fast screenplay readers who love helping aspiring and professional writers. This role is perfect for someone looking for part-time, flexible work (between 15 and 25 hours per week). LA-based candidates are preferred, but candidates must be in California.

If you love reading scripts and want to have an impact on which scripts are elevated in the industry, this is a great position for you.

The ideal candidate...

    • Loves reading and analyzing screenplays
    • Passionate about supporting and helping all writers (from experienced to brand new)
    • Is detail-oriented, well written, and able to organize their thoughts and ideas
    • Holds strong and well-thought opinions on movies, novels, and art and can articulate those opinions.
    • Has industry experience reading for an agency, management company, production company, or studio
    • Desires to improve operations for efficiency and top results
    • An excellent communicator


    • Must have at least two years of professional script feedback experience with a reputable company
    • Quickly and efficiently read and analyze screenplays
    • Highlight communication improvements to help encourage a more uniform read from all readers
    • Highlight writers and projects to be promoted to managers, agents, producers, and showrunners
    • Write short promotional material (like bios or brief synopses) about why a writer or script stands out

Measurable Results

    • 100% on-time rate for writer-facing feedback
    • 90% positive feedback from writers
    • Read TV Script (~60 pages) in 40 - 45 mins
    • Read TV Script (~60 pages) and write 800 words of notes in 80 - 95 minutes
    • Read Feature Script (~100 pages) in 60 - 70 minutes
    • Read Feature Script (~100 pages) and write 1,400 words of notes in 145 - 160 minutes

    • Please note: part of the interview process will require 1-2 assignments testing the speed and quality of your notes.
Based on experience with bonuses available on a script-by-script basis for quality and efficiency.
