About This Position:

INflow Federal is seeking a Sr Network Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will contribute to the DoD warfighter mission through your passion for technology. This position’s primary role will be Network Engineer servicing a large-scale Enterprise network. You will be part of a Team of Network Technicians and Engineers servicing the customer sites. This network includes Cisco, Aruba, Brocade, Juniper, Riverbed and McAfee network devices to include Routers, Switches, Access Points, Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Virtual Private Networks (VPN) and WAN Accelerators.

Job Duties

    • Act as a Senior Network Engineer for complex network engineering tasks supporting more than 20,000 users across enterprise LAN/WAN/BAN/MAN environments.
    • Provide Tier III/IV support for escalated outages and performance degradations, ensuring rapid diagnosis and restoration of service.
    • Implement network solutions, including the integration of new technologies and optimization of existing infrastructure.
    • Support configuration, installation, and lifecycle management of routers, switches, COMSEC/TACLANES, intrusion prevention systems (e.g., McAfee), Aruba wireless controllers, Riverbed Steelhead WANX, and other enterprise network hardware/software.
    • Develop and enforce network policies, standard operating procedures, and documentation in alignment with security and operational standards.
    • Conduct root cause analysis, document corrective actions, and drive process improvements to prevent repeat incidents.
    • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level network engineers/technicians, providing technical direction and career development support.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on large-scale initiatives such as data center migrations, cloud integrations, and modernization projects.

Requirements

    • 8 years of IT experience and a Bachelors Degree or 12 years of IT related experience
    • CCNA & Security+ CE required
    • Advanced knowledge of Ethernet, IP, routing, and switching technologies, including deep understanding of the OSI Model.
    • Proven hands-on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and MPLS-based environments.
    • Strong experience with wireless technologies, VPNs, WAN acceleration, and intrusion prevention/detection systems.
    • Solid background in designing, implementing, and supporting network security controls, including COMSEC/TACLANE operations.
    • Familiarity with network automation, scripting (Python, Ansible), and monitoring tools is highly desirable.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead projects, coordinate maintenance windows, and drive incident response under pressure.
    • Strong communication and leadership skills with a track record of mentoring and knowledge transfer.
