Capital Project Risk Management Specialist (Fixed-Term, 12-months)

The role is responsible for the oversight and day-to-day management of the Active Risk Manager (ARM) risk database, quantitative risk modelling for their assigned project(s) scope (both cost and schedule), and to produce Project and, at times, Program level risk reporting.  This includes managing the implementation of project level risk assessments with support to the Program level risks through facilitation of the risk management process at the contract/ project level. 

What You Will Do:

    • Deliver risk management training pertaining to the Infrastructure Ontario (IO) Risk Management Framework and within the context of broader Project Controls.
    • Act as a lead facilitator and educator of the IO Risk Management framework to incumbent Project Delivery Teams, engaging them in risk workshops and training sessions as the Risk Team looks to implement an optimized and consistent risk practice for all Asset Classes and delivery models.
    • Validate and ensure that all program team members comply with the Risk Management Framework (Plans and Processes therein) and other ancillary risk-related procedures whilst continually seeking to grow and optimize the Framework through demonstrated experiences.
    • Manage relevant stakeholder engagement through the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive project risk registers for both transaction and construction phases of projects.
    • Oversee, build and run regular, detailed Quantitative Risk Analysis (both cost and schedule) and the use of outputs to inform project-level reporting, contingency validation, and management.
    • Manage the intake of timely and high-quality data and analysis within the Active Risk Manager (ARM) database for the dedicated project scope. 
    • Develop and manage the update of metrics for project reporting related to risk management process health, contingency usage/draw-down, mitigation spend etc.
    • Assist in the development of Risk Management key linkages, reporting relationships and interfaces from the Project level through to Enterprise function (ERM).

What We’re Looking For:

    • A few years experience in the delivery and implementation of a Risk Management Framework across a set of projects or portfolio of construction related projects.
    • Experience or education in a related field.
    • Solid, demonstrated professional work experience in Risk Management within Project Controls or Construction Management environment, ideally for Capital Projects.
    • PMP and/or Certificate in Risk Management CRM are an asset.
    • Familiarity with and understanding of QCRA/QSRA (Quantitative Cost Risk Analysis/Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis) methods and software platforms.
    • Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to gain consensus and adherence to a common risk practice.
$86,400 - $129,500 a year
