We are seeking a Cloud Architect that will be responsible for guiding customers through their cloud transformation journey by developing comprehensive infrastructure migration and modernization strategies.
As a Cloud Architect at Innovative Solutions, you will be a key technical resource, responsible for helping our customers successfully migrate and modernize their infrastructure on AWS (Amazon Web Services) to achieve business growth and operational efficiency. You will have a deep understanding of AWS infrastructure services, migration methodologies, and cloud-native architecture patterns.
*This role has quarterly travel to our Rochester, NY Headquarters
Key Responsibilities:
· Engage directly with enterprise clients to gather technical and business requirements for AWS cloud adoption.
· Architect scalable infrastructure solutions using AWS native services including EC2, EKS, ECS, Lambda, CloudFormation, CDK, and Terraform.
· Design and implement CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation for consistent, repeatable, and secure deployments.
· Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams, providing technical direction, code reviews, and architectural oversight.
· Create, prioritize, and manage Jira Epics, stories, and tasks to plan and track progress on cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
· Drive containerization and microservices adoption using Kubernetes (EKS) and Amazon ECS, including networking, scaling, and observability.
· Develop serverless application designs using Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, and DynamoDB.
· Collaborate with product managers, solution architects, and executives to align cloud solutions with business goals.
· Deliver executive-level presentations and documentation articulating value, architecture, risks, and ROI of proposed solutions.
· Stay up to date with AWS innovations and industry best practices to continuously enhance customer offerings.
· Mentor other architects and engineers in the latest cloud migration, analytics, AI and other services.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
· 10+ years of hands-on cloud architecture and implementation experience, with deep focus on AWS.
· Proven leadership in architecting enterprise-scale AWS solutions, including hybrid and multi-account environments, using tools like Control Tower and Landing Zones.
· Expert knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform.
· Proficiency with containers and orchestration platforms including Amazon EKS, ECS, and Fargate.
· Solid experience designing and deploying serverless solutions using AWS Lambda and related services.
· Deep understanding of cloud security, IAM, networking, cost optimization, and high availability.
· Experience with Agile methodologies and writing/managing Jira tickets for cloud implementation workstreams.
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to interface with technical teams and business stakeholders alike.
· Experience or a learning path for the latest AI and ML services on AWS

Preferred Qualifications:
· AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (Required)
· AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or equivalent specialty certifications
· Experience with enterprise tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Datadog, New Relic, etc.
· Prior work in cloud consulting or managed services environments
$160,000 - $185,000 a year
The salary range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Innovative considers factors including, but not limited to, the responsibilities of the specific role, market conditions, geographic location, as well as the candidate’s professional experience, key skills, and education/training.
