About the Role
As the Head of Development, you’ll act as the crucial bridge between strategy and execution - ensuring that our technology initiatives are delivered with quality, efficiency, and alignment to business goals.
You will lead a skilled hybrid development team, guiding projects from concept to completion, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Execution
- Translate the company’s technical strategy (defined by CTO and System Architect) into actionable development plans.
- Ensure alignment of development initiatives with long-term goals: scalability, security, and compliance.
- Turn high-level business goals into executable software deliverables.
- Delivery Management
- Oversee full development lifecycles - from ideation to release - on time and within budget.
- Partner with QA to ensure robust quality assurance practices and high standards for performance and security.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks to maintain momentum and reduce disruptions.
- Agile Leadership & Innovation
- Lead agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Continuously evolve agile processes to enhance productivity and adaptability.
- Implement new tools and workflows that drive efficiency and quality.
- Team Leadership & Growth
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of developers—setting clear expectations, offering feedback, and supporting career development.
- Build and nurture a collaborative, innovative engineering culture.
- Act as a liaison between development and cross-functional teams (e.g., product, design, operations) to ensure technical decisions are business-informed.
- Reporting & Transparency
- Ensure organizational alignment by providing regular project updates via Jira and the EOS framework.
- Maintain open lines of communication across all levels to ensure clarity and accountability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a senior development leadership role, within fintech or payments industry.
- Deep understanding of agile methodologies and modern software development practices.
- Strong background in project and risk management, software architecture, and quality assurance.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- Fluency in English.
