Job Summary
The Senior Designer, Healthcare and Architectural Products, has experience in design and delivery of interior architecture projects with a focus on integrated interior environments and the application of prefabricated sustainable solutions. As a key team member, you will serve as a collaborative member of a dynamic project team to help grow our presence in the Bay Area, and nationally, supporting Insidesource offices from coast-to-coast. You will engage customers and industry influencers in forward-thinking discussions and workshops to solve strategic challenges within their organizations, using your creativity, skills, and expertise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver informed project solutions based on healthcare market expertise and an understanding of client goals.
    • Partner with Healthcare and Architectural Products Director, or Business Development Managers, to respond to requests for information, pricing and/or services.
    • Incorporate and execute creative design strategies, in collaboration with Insidesource
    • project team.
    • Demonstrate extensive design theory, space planning, and project management knowledge in healthcare, life science, and commercial markets.
    • Coordinate project systems to ensure compatibility with the design intent and implement sustainable design principles.
    • Utilize a range of methods, including 3D software renderings, to communicate design concepts.
    • Resolve complex technical and design issues with team to produce innovative, technical, constructible solutions.
    • Participate in design meetings and communicate efficiently and proactively with team to obtain pertinent design criteria; able to translate into actionable steps.
    • Maintain current knowledge of product delivery schedules and long-lead procurement item needs.
    • Proactively identify project risks, offering creative solutions and alternatives; work independently to execute next steps and evaluate results.
    • Ability to apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity.
    • Document and coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, lighting, AV, acoustical, accessibility, life safety, etc.)
    • Contribute to the team’s long term technology strategy, with an eye to increasing efficiency and improving communication and collaboration with project vendors.
    • Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the use of Revit and BIM360, including setting up the model, trouble shooting, and guiding collaboration with project consultants (architects, MEPs, etc.)
    • Assist with training and upskilling team members on the use of Revit and BIM360 as needed.
    • Manage and record billable hours, cultivate efficiencies, and reduce errors.
    • Participate in ongoing learning around strategic areas of focus, including partner products and solutions, sustainable design, design tools and technology, workplace strategy, healthcare strategy, and healthcare codes.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience Required

    • CET and CAP 2020 Worksheet experience required. 
    • Strong proficiency with Revit and BIM360 required, or willingness to learn quickly.
    • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Sketchup experience required.
    • Knowledge of healthcare and laboratory planning methodologies, products, and textiles.
    • Knowledge and understanding of applicable building codes, ADA regulations, National Electrical Code, etc.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with internal dealership sales, project management, account coordination, procurement, and operations/installation groups, client, contractor and subcontractor trades, A&D firms, electricians, and client’s IT group, etc.
    • Strong presentation skills and ability to facilitate design development activities with client and client’s project team. Ability to present using live design in person or via virtual meetings.
    • General understanding of contract specification process, including specification development, order preparation, project management, order management, and delivery/installation.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (including grammar, spelling, and proof- reading).
    • Demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
    • High attention to detail and a keen eye for interior design, finishes, space planning and graphics.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and collaborative work environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • 5+ years interior design, or architecture experience required.
    • NCIDQ or CIDA accreditation preferred.
    • LEED and WELL Certifications a plus.
Pay Range: $100 - 125k
The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, and specific licensing or qualifications.
