At ISA, the Data Analytics Group (DAG) operates with both internal and external focus to support the Consulting group and work across clients on projects involving large-scale data manipulation, advanced analytics and modeling, and interactive tool development. We approach this work with 3 core focus areas within DAG: Data Architecture, Data Science, and Translational Analytics. We are looking for successful analyst/senior analyst candidates to join our team with a focus on data architecture to help expand capabilities and innovate new, creative solutions to answer the challenging business questions facing our clients in the life sciences industry.

Core Responsibilities Include:

    • Becoming a subject matter expert for consulting project teams for data usage in the context of client engagements including: Identifying appropriate data sources, Determining the appropriateness and feasibility of an analysis, Helping define business rules for an analysis, and crafting analytic plans
    • Developing and executing ETL processes including receiving, loading and cleaning of data tables 
    • Enhancing existing, and developing new, processes for bridging and interconnecting data sets together
    • Supporting execution of advanced analyses by developing and implementing business rules on data sets 
    • Learning to query and transform typical pharmaceutical data sets such as prescription volume data, transnational adjudication claim data, formulary data
    • Building, maintaining and updating new/existing client-facing analytic tools in Excel and Tableau
    • Packaging client-ready analytic tools and accompanying training materials to help clients leverage tools

Successful Analyst Candidates will have:

    • A Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of relevant programming experience, work experience a plus
    • Previous hands on experience with relational databases including data querying using SQL, Python, JavaScript or PHP
    • Advanced experience in at least one of the following areas: MS Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint), R, Tableau, pharmaceutical claims data
    • Superior quantitative analytical skills
    • Strong organizational skills and an ability to multi-task across several project work streams
    • Experience with and interest in learning skills for performing and presenting quantitative work
    • Authorization to work in the United States

Successful Senior Analyst Candidates will have:

    • An advanced Degree (Master’s or PhD) and/or a Bachelor’s with multiple years of relevant work experience
    • 2+ years hands on experience with data querying relational databases in SQL, Python, JavaScript or PHP
    • Advanced experience in at least two of the following areas: MS Office Suite (Excel & PowerPoint), R, Tableau, pharmaceutical claims data
    • Experience in creating and executing novel analytical designs as necessary
    • 1+ years of data structuring/warehousing or experience data interfacing SQL tables with front end tools such as Excel and/or Tableau is a plus
