Location: Washington, DC. Our in-office team comes together to collaborate in our Dupont Circle office Tuesday through Thursday and works from home Monday and Friday.

Inspiration is the world’s first specialist investment and asset management platform exclusively focused on accelerating the electrification of transportation in North America. Your Mission:  
Your mission is to manage pricing,underwriting, due diligence, and deal structuring for new customers / opportunities and to lead monitoring and risk assessment for current customers / projects. Your work will include examining customer information, analyzing risks and proposing creative transaction structures,conducting analysis to support decision-making for other important strategic initiatives, and contributing to capital raising and capital markets initiatives. You will act as an essential liaison between our sales/customer success organizations and the treasury, comp liance, and capital markets functions. 
 
You will report to Joe Eisenberg, our Senior VP of Transactions. 

The Legacy You’ll Leave: 
As a result of your time in this role, you will have created sophisticated financial and risk models and analyses and collaboratively led and improved the transaction diligence and execution process with our internal and external parties. You will have developed analytical frameworks which inform key corporate actions. These efforts will result in you helping us create an extensive and diversified portfolio of customers that generate attractive financial returns.   

Outcomes You Will Deliver:

    • Collaborate with internal teams to lead pricing, structuring, modeling, and risk evaluation of vehicle leasing and charging infrastructure opportunities, conducting technical financial analysis, designing and recommending deal structures and credit enhancements that meet the needs of customers while balancing internal return, portfolio quality, and risk exposure targets.  
    • Assist Legal team with preparation and review of transaction lease documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of commercial information. 
    • Serve as the primary gatekeeper to the company’s Investment Committee (“IC”) for fleet and charging transactions, deciding when to bring deals to the IC.  
    • Manage drafting of investment approval memos, including due diligence and quantitative risk/return analyses, ensuring that all materials are thorough, concise, and relevant. 
    • Implement and monitor key risk indicators and compliance for the lease portfolio, ensuring portfolio performance and risk exposure align with company goals. 
    • Build and manage analytical frameworks/models that enable successful customer transactions, including underwriting policies, deal pricing, financial/risk models, pricing forecasts, etc.  

Who You Are:

    • You have at least 7 years of experience at an investment bank, investment firm or other financial institution, executing commercial transactions, ideally including structuring asset-based finance debt, leases and/or securitizations. 
    • You have extensive knowledge of commercial vehicle fleet finance and/or equipment leasing, including loan structures, collateral management, and portfolio risk management. 
    • You are an expert at analyzing complex financial statements (income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flows) and identifying key metrics and trends therein to enable quality decision-making. 
    • You have an extensive background in conducting diligence and evaluating different businesses to assess their creditworthiness and managing credit risk while driving business growth and profitability. 
    • You have some level of relevant domain expertise in either vehicle electrification transportation, automotive, fleet, or clean energy.  
    • You are an expert Excel modeler with a mastery of pertinent structured finance functions (e.g., xnpv, xirr, rate, pmt, etc.) and have strong PowerPoint and Word skills.  
    • You are an excellent problem-solver, communicator, collaborator, presenter, and critical thinker with a talent for handling and supervising several tasks and projects simultaneously with high attention to detail. 
    • Working knowledge of applicable federal tax concepts (e.g., tax credits, depreciation, leasing matters) is a plus.  
    • You are a self-starter who can take guidance from others and own projects and outcomes.
