What we do:
- We build and maintain a repository of digitized learning standards, education search terms, and unique identifiers, covering more than 7 million standards.
- We build and support AI-powered alignment tools and solutions.
- We grow great products by investing in the teams that create them: the hallmarks of our engineering culture are constructive code review, hackweeks, internal conferences, a bias to action, thoughtful collaboration, and regular communication.
- We work with Amazon Web Services to provision infrastructure, reduce costs, and scale traffic.
- We write testable, performant code that can scale to tens of millions of requests per day.
- We work as a team to mentor and teach other engineers, encouraging best practices and fostering code reuse.
What we look for:
- 4+ years of experience in software engineering, with a strong foundation in coding and system design
- Experience with RESTful/GraphQL APIs
- Experience with relational databases (e.g. MySQL, PostgreSQL), including database design, optimization and query tuning
- A bias to action, desire for ownership, and love for problem-solving
- Demonstrated excellence in programming, debugging, architecture, and DevOps — our engineers design, build, and deploy their own code
- Node.js and its frameworks (e.g. Express, NestJS), Python is a plus
- AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g. Terraform)
- Front-end, preferably React experience is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with building and deploying AI models is a plus
- Fluency in English
