Are you an operations leader with a passion for excellence and a track record of driving large-scale, complex projects? Instructure is seeking a Senior Manager, Operations to lead the operational strategy and execution for our globally dispersed assessment content team. This role requires a strategic thinker who can not only manage complex processes and budgets, but also foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement across a diverse, international team. You will be instrumental in ensuring the efficiency and scalability of our assessment content operations, directly contributing to our mission of helping people learn and succeed.
What you will be doing:
- Strategic Leadership and Budget Management: You will manage the comprehensive operational budget for the assessment content team, proactively identifying and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Process Optimization: You will drive continuous process improvement initiatives, using data to analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions that enhance efficiency, quality, and scalability. You will be responsible for creating and communicating process documentation and best practices to a global team, leveraging tools such as Asana and Jira.
- Team and Talent Development: You will build, coach, and inspire a nimble and high-performing operations team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and AI-first thinking. You'll ensure team members have the guidance and resources to excel and grow. This includes managing our relationships with contractors, including onboarding and offboarding.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will be a key liaison between the operations team and other departments, including product management, engineering, and sales. You will lead and influence a range of collaborators, from team members to executive leadership, ensuring alignment and seamless execution of projects.
- Risk and Project Management: You will own the responsibility for identifying, tracking, and resolving operational issues and risks. You will facilitate communication and provide clear, data-driven insights to stakeholders and senior management. You will deliver executive-facing communications and create presentations to inform strategic business decisions and report on progress.
Here is what you will need to know/have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, or related field; project management certification (e.g., PMP) preferred.
- Proven experience leading and managing operations for a large-scale, remote team.
- A minimum of 5 years of management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-impact teams.
- Deep expertise in budget management, including tracking, forecasting, and resource allocation for projects with significant annual contract value.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to foresee challenges and develop proactive solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively present complex information and influence a wide range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset with a demonstrated ability to take initiative and drive projects forward with minimal oversight.
- Experience in the education or ed-tech industry, with a strong understanding of assessment content or related fields is highly desirable.
- Experience with project and resource management software, such as Asana and Jira.
