About The Role: 
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Product Quality & Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Integra is providing quality and compliant products to its rapidly growing markets and their ever evolving requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

    • Product quality and compliance database: Utilizing existing product quality standards for all of Integra brands, redesign Integra’s product quality and compliance reference database for internal and external reference for determining and ensuring product quality and regulatory compliance.
    • Regulatory Compliance Assessment: Conduct thorough research on existing and evolving regulations, standards, and guidelines related to cosmetic beauty products in the US and international markets including MoCRA, OTC, GMP, Prop 65, REACh, and UL Std 859 and stay up-to-date with regulatory changes. 
    • Product Quality & Compliance Audits: Evaluate the quality & compliance of our cosmetic beauty products by auditing a nominated product’s safety, regulatory, structural, functional, and aesthetic features including ingredient analysis, safety assessments, and label reviews, warnings, and claims.
    • Develop Quality Inspection Plans: Create comprehensive product quality inspection plans to identify and address defective goods incoming to the distribution center from vendors.
    • Performance Metrics Reporting: Develop and maintain key product quality performance metrics. Regularly report on the improvement of these metrics as a result of implemented corrective actions. Provide insights and recommendations for ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
    • Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive records of all compliance-related documents, including product formulations, safety data sheets, and test reports.
    • Product Registration: Manage the product registration process in accordance with regulatory requirements in different markets, including submissions to relevant authorities when necessary.
    • Cross-functional Root Cause Analysis: Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis activities to identify the source of product defects. Collaborate with stakeholders including vendors, supply chain, engineering, and fulfillment teams to gather relevant information and insights. Utilize data and analytical tools to drive effective problem-solving discussions.
    • Validate Corrective Actions: Evaluate the effectiveness of identified corrective actions to address product quality issues. Work closely with vendors to ensure the timely implementation of corrective actions. Confirm receipt of improved goods and conduct thorough inspections to validate the success of corrective measures.
    • Testing and Certification: Coordinate product testing with third-party laboratories to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and performance standards. Obtain necessary certifications and approvals as required.
    • Communication and Training: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, marketing, and manufacturing, to ensure a clear understanding of compliance requirements. Provide training and guidance to team members as needed.

Additional Responsibilities

    • Develop packaging requirements for SKU’s, support operations with day to day product issues
    • Support creative department in development of packaging design and artwork
    • Must be willing to test products developed
    • Travel as required
    • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Regulatory Affairs, Quality or a related field. 
    • Previous experience in regulatory compliance, preferably in the beauty or personal care industry.
    • Strong knowledge of US and international regulations and standards related to cosmetics and hair care products.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
    • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Proficiency in using compliance management software and tools.

    • Preferred Qualifications
    • 5+ years of professional experience in hair care consumer goods development
    • Master's degree is a plus.
    • Previous Hair styling/ Cosmetology experience
    • Previous hands-on formulation or packaging development
    • Previous brand and/or supply chain experience
    • Cross-functional leadership/project management experience
    • Team leadership experience
    • Experience with presentations to senior leadership
    • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment that requires the high initiative and ability to self–prioritize business tasks
