Director of Systems and Data Operations
The Director of Data and System Operations will manage our internal operations team and own data pipeline and data warehousing activities. You will build, mentor, and guide our business intelligence team to provide BI technical solutions as well as actionable information.
What You’ll Do:
•Build and maintain data pipelines from various sources into our data warehouse
•Partner with senior management to understand and deliver performance insights and key analytics solutions
•Advocate for data-driven decisions, strong data governance, and other initiatives.
•Develop and optimize SQL queries and database tables/views
•Build and maintain our data warehouse infrastructure
•Develop custom applications and internal tools that make use of warehouse data
•Provide day-to-day end-user support for data visualization and analysis activities
•Establish and implement best practices with regards to system maintenance, configuration, development, testing, and data integrity
•Promote internal efforts to “data-drive” decision-making and performance measurement
•Lead decisions regarding data architecture and tool selection / implementation
•Manage our internal operations team and oversee several key projects related to system implementations and structure
What You Offer:
•At least 7 years of experience in data engineering
•At least 3 years of software/SaaS industry experience
•Previous experience in a leadership position
•Advanced SQL development and database optimization skills
•Deep understanding of SQL databases and data pipelines (SQL Workbench, MySQL, Oracle)
•Experience managing and optimizing SQL databases
•Experience building custom data pipelines and API integrations
•Experience developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, etc.)
•Experience using and integrating with common business software (Salesforce, CRM, Marketing Automation, Billing, etc.)
•Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, etc.)
•Ability to support and improve data gathering and reporting activities across the company
•Ability to shape data analysis efforts to drive real business value
•Work with key stake holders for requirement gathering and acceptance criteria
•Ability to develop and maintain data and system playbooks
