We are looking for energetic and motivated Carpenter Helpers/Apprentices, 1st, 2nd & 3rd year or equivalent, with experience in construction carpentry and experience on a construction site.

Intelligent City is a registered sponsor with the SkilledTradesBC and we can report apprentice hours.

Under the guidance of our Foreman and Lead Journeyman, Carpenter, you will be an important member of our team working in mass timber pre-fabrication.

Number of positions: 1 new positions
Location: DELTA, BC - On-site full-time in pre-fab facility
Work Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm


We are accepting applications from within the lower mainland, BC, only.

Education & Qualifications, Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent

    • Nice to Haves:
    • Apprenticeship education an asset

Skills & Experience, Required:

    • At least 1 to 3 years of experience as Carpenter working on a construction site
    • Skilled using tools
    • Able to read and interpret blueprints
    • Able to work independently and with supervision
    • Eye for quality control/assurance and safety from start to finish

The Role & Responsibilities - Carpenter:

    • Arrive on-site prepared for work with the tools necessary to complete required tasks
    • Skilled in rough and finish carpentry work
    • Frame accurately within set tolerances.
    • Interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
    • Calculate the amount and type of materials needed
    • Create layouts, templates, and jigs
    • Be knowledgeable and familiar with local building codes
    • Operate hand tools as directed - pneumatic tools, hand tools.
    • Perform quality inspections on your work.
    • Preparing necessary materials and setting up the area and required equipment ready for production.
    • Lifting, carrying, and moving materials. Up to 50 lbs.
    • Use measuring tools to prepare layouts
    • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials.
    • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.
    • Apply fabrication best practices for optimal results.

Other Important responsibilities:

    • Communicate with other members of the team to ensure production goals and quality standards are met. 
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including identifying opportunities to streamline processes, improve quality, and reduce waste.
    • Comply with all health and safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Important to Mention!

    • Must provide your own CSA-approved 6” safety footwear, required.
    • Proof of ability to remain and work in Canada.
    • Successful candidates may be required to submit to a background check

Physical Demands:

    • Lifting and carrying heavy objects, sometimes up to 50 pounds
    • Standing for long periods of time, 8 hours or more
    • Standing or walking for extended periods of time
    • Climbing stairs or ladders
    • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to Operate Machinery, assemble components and use hand and power tools
    • Repetitive motions such as; bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching, including above and below the shoulder, pushing, pulling and twisting,

Work Environment:

    • Ability to work near moving equipment in a production environment.
    • Exposed to machine noise, dust, chemicals and/or fumes.
    • Working at heights

Safety Requirements:

    • When on the production floor or construction site, wear appropriate protective equipment, such as a hard hat, hearing protection, safety work boots, and safety glasses.
    • Work safely and follow all health and safety policies and procedures.
$25 - $29 an hour
We expect the hourly pay within the range for this position will vary within the range of $25 - $29 per hour. The pay you receive will be based on various market evaluation and various job-related factors, including your past work experience, relevant education etc.. Benefits offered after 3 months.
