We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in-person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.
About This Role
As part of Intersect’s Corporate Finance team, you’ll help shape the future of financial automation. You’ll explore AI‑powered tools, streamline manual processes, and develop solutions that improve accuracy and efficiency across finance and accounting. This internship is designed for students or recent graduates eager to learn at the intersection of finance, technology, and artificial intelligence. This is a full time internship and 40 hours per week are required.

The Corporate Finance team ensures Intersect’s financial systems and processes scale alongside our mission to accelerate clean energy growth. We focus on clarity, accuracy, and innovation; delivering insights and tools that empower the company to make fast, confident decisions. By modernizing workflows and harnessing automation, we reduce manual effort and create space for strategic thinking.
What You’ll Do
Build AI Solutions
• Design and test proof of concepts using AI tools (Gemini / GPT) for reporting, reconciliations, and forecasting
• Apply automation techniques to reduce cycle times and minimize errors in finance workflows
Ensure Data Accuracy
• Clean, prepare, and manage datasets to ensure reliable outputs
• Create clear process documentation to support adoption and long‑term use
Collaborate Across Teams
• Partner with Finance, Risk, and IT to identify automation opportunities and integrate solutions into tools like Google Sheets, Power BI, and databases
• Share progress and findings with stakeholders through reports and presentations
Deploy and Monitor Solutions
• Support integration of prototypes into production systems in a secure, scalable way
• Contribute to testing and quality assurance to ensure long‑term success
What You’ll Bring
• Enrollment in a bachelor’s or master’s program in computer science, data science, finance, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and forecasting
• Hands‑on experience with Python and familiarity with data tools such as SQL, Excel, Google Sheets, Power BI and Tableau
• Strong interest in process automation, finance technology, and artificial intelligence
• Experience with complex financial models is a plus
• Experience working with confidential data and managing access permissions
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams
• A proactive, self‑starter mindset and eagerness to learn in a fast‑paced environment
Compensation: $25/h for Undergraduate students and $45/h for Graduate students
This is a Full Time internship. 40 hrs a week required.
