About This Role
Based at Intersect’s Quantum I and II sites in Haskell County, TX, you’ll oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our utility-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) assets within ERCOT. Acting as the owner’s representative on-site, you’ll manage day-to-day operations and maintenance activities, ensure compliance with contracts and regulations, and build strong relationships with operators, contractors, regulators, and the local community. This role blends technical expertise with leadership and communication, ensuring our projects deliver long-term value while representing Intersect at the local level.
Team Overview
The Operations team ensures Intersect’s renewable energy assets perform to the highest standards. With 22 team members spanning Operations, Compliance, and Asset Management, the team is responsible for day-to-day operations, asset management, operational compliance, and operational technology. We also partner with other functions across the company to support the delivery of new projects. Joining this team means you’ll contribute directly to the performance and reliability of our portfolio while developing deep expertise in utility-scale renewable energy operations.
What You’ll Do
Oversee Site Operations
• Manage all O&M activities for Quantum I and II, ensuring compliance with contracts, company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Conduct regular site inspections and assessments, addressing issues proactively to minimize downtime
• Monitor warranties and remediation activities to ensure timely resolution and accountability
Optimize Performance and Reliability
• Develop and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance plans with third-party O&M providers
• Coordinate scheduled maintenance, repairs, and upgrades with contractors and partners
• Manage spare parts procurement and inventory to support timely repairs and consistent system reliability
Act as the Owner’s Representative
• Serve as the primary on-site liaison between Intersect, third-party operators, contractors, regulators, and community stakeholders
• Communicate site performance, maintenance issues, and project updates clearly and effectively to executives and internal stakeholders
• Build constructive relationships with local authorities, regulatory agencies, and community representatives
Ensure Documentation and Compliance
• Maintain accurate reporting and documentation to track site performance and compliance
• Support regulatory, safety, and contractual requirements across operations
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and best practices within the broader Operations team
What You’ll Bring
• A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, renewable energy, construction management, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in solar PV systems are a plus
• 4+ years of experience in utility-scale solar PV operations and maintenance, with at least 2 years of BESS operations preferred
• Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, system design, and operational best practices
• Experience coordinating project management tasks with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficiency with tools such as Excel, Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, and Slack
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to thrive in a remote environment and work effectively on site, M-F in Haskell County, TX
• Willingness to travel regionally and work across diverse environmental conditions
