Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
The purpose of this position is to ensure that the company reduces liability while safeguarding revenues and ensuring the legality of all company processes. Job will be located in Williamsburg, VA.
 
·       Structure, draft, review, administer reports and other legal documents such as construction contracts, JV agreements and other all contracts/agreements
·       Oversee commercial and legal aspects of construction projects including project controls and compliance, contracts support and claims management with the Federal Government
·       Responsible for the operative and strategic management of contracts and project changes
·       Provide legal advice and approvals where required during procurements and contract negotiations as well as throughout project execution and be able to draft claims, position papers, and other initiating legal documents
·       Effectively explain potential issues to the federal government and drive potential solutions to a consensus decision
·       Represents company in legal proceeding and negotiate deals
·       Advises management of contractual rights and obligations and provides interpretation of terms and conditions
·       Monitors contract progress and renewal or termination
·       Analyzes contracts to determine requirements and provide guidance to project staff for dispute resolution
·       Advocate the interests of Leebcor in bid protests and other actions involving the federal government
·       Work closely with outside attorneys and/or management on legal projects
·       Review and approve fully executed change orders and push all executed change orders
·       Communicate with customers and provide status reports
·       Review subcontractor bonds for accuracy and completeness
·       Other duties as assigned
 
 
 
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
 
·       Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Assistant and minimum of 5+ years relevant experience
·       Federal DOD Contracting experience, highly preferred
·       Well versed and knowledgeable of FAR, AFARS, DFARS, DCAA
·       TS clearance or ability to get
·       Prefer understanding of full lifecycle of a construction project ranging from project finding, bidding, execution to close-out
·       Must possess excellent communication skills – both verbal and written, with ability to produce highly professional proposals and presentations
·       Must possess strong relationship management skills.
·       Must have the ability to get along with people at all levels and influence others
·       Capability to research industry information and develop strategy
·       Ability to provide teamworking environment, to stay calm under pressure and keep to deadlines
·       Must have and maintain knowledge of finance and construction management best practices as well as state, federal and local laws regarding company operations
·       Solid experience working with external auditors, internal controls and compliance-related issues in the construction industry, required
·       Ability to perform duties in a professional manner
·       Minimum of 5 years of supervisory/management experience, required
·       Demonstrates proficiency using a personal computer (PC) and company communication tools, such as email, internet, and Microsoft products (e.g., Word, Excel, Office)
·       Strong organizational and planning skills for a fast-paced environment
·       Possess and understands company's core values, goals, and vision
 
 
Physical Requirements:
 
·       Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance
·       Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
·       Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone
·       Ability to work a varied schedule based on project needs
·       Valid Driver’s License
·       Clean driving record required
·       Ability to gain access to military job sites
·       Ability to travel to job sites as needed
