The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Infralogic team. As a senior reporter, you will provide exclusive content on transactions, both M&A and financing, in the power and energy infrastructure sector. This includes coverage of gas-fired power generation facilities, midstream oil and gas assets, storage facilities and LNG export facilities. You will work closely with the Infralogic energy team in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Build close relationships with investors, advisors, bankers, and other participants in the energy sector
    • Track deal and firm activity, regularly breaking news ahead of regulatory filings, official announcement, and other media reports
    • Generate ideas for longer-form coverage, including deep dives into sector trends and company profiles, working with the Infralogic data and research teams
    • Write an average of four exclusive stories per week and one long-form piece every month
    • Record one podcast episode per quarter with a relevant industry player
    • Assist with ION Analytics’, primarily Infralogic’s, events with content creation, panel moderation and speaking.
    • Work with the regional editor, senior editors, and collaborating with colleagues across the group, to support content creation targeted at ION Analytics’ key customer segments.
    • Maintain high standards of copy and adhering to group-wide compliance policies.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

    • Knowledge of the financial markets, with proven record of reporting exclusives
    • Knowledge of the US energy sector, and the major players in it
    • At least three years of reporting experience in a reputable newsroom, with global exposure
    • Proven record of breaking news for a media organization, as well as writing in-depth analyses
    • Ability to spot trends in market data and conduct research to identify and produce reports
    • Track record of ability to build network of sources to produce reports
    • Strong news and feature-length writing skills
    • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other reporters, both to confirm leads and to develop long-form stories
Estimated Salary Range:

The estimated salary range is $90K - $120K. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and skills.
