THE ROLE
 
The Cloud Solutions Architect / Principal Engineer will collaborate closely with client and delivery teams to develop proposals, presentations, statement of work (SOW) and proactively recommend strategies around cloud technologies specifically Microsoft Azure and AWS. They will also lead, design and implement strategic consulting projects on Microsoft Azure / AWS, assessments, POC/pilots, map solutions to client business processes, and develop technical value propositions for Lab49’s capabilities.

What you’ll do:

    • Advise customers on various cloud solution options, discuss benefits and risks of each, and recommend a solution that aligns with the customer's business needs and requirements
    • Design and implement solutions across consulting projects focusing on the Microsoft Azure or AWS technology stack
    • Demonstrate thought leadership in cloud computing across multiple streams
    • Develop technical roadmaps for future Azure/AWS cloud implementations

Requirements

    • 10+ years overall IT experience and 6+ years of relevant cloud architecture, design & delivery experience
    • Proven and in-depth experience of 5+ years in architecting, designing and delivering highly scalable services for at least two of the following cloud platforms – Azure, AWS and/or GCP.
    • Experience in Azure/AWS Infrastructure, Networks, Storage, Apps and DevOps
    • Experience in creating solutions, presenting and articulating winning prepositions for Microsoft Azure and AWS
    • Well versed with cloud architecture styles and design patterns
    • Experience in developing cloud migration approaches, defining migration roadmaps and providing estimates
    • Experience with Azure Resource Manager, Resource Groups, Virtual Networks, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Blob Storage, PowerShell DSC, Azure Automation, Azure Active Directory, and Azure Site Recovery
    • Experience in developing and deploying Cloud Native Applications using Azure PaaS Capabilities (App Services Plans, Key Vault, SQL Azure DB, Azure Functions, Containers, AKS, Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, API Management)
    • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, & Bash etc.
    • Knowledge of Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, Azure IoT, Azure HDInsight + Spark, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Databricks, Azure Stream Analytics and Azure SQL DB
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical ideas to business stakeholders and facilitate architecture discussions
    • Able to support pre-sales engagements by identifying and communicating potential solutions that meet Lab49’s customer needs

    • Experience in a fast-paced growth organization while working in a professional services delivery model
    • Microsoft Azure Architecture Certification (Fundamentals, Developer Associate, Data Engineer Associate)
