About the position:
We are looking for a driven and strategic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our growing team. As a BDR, you’ll play a critical role in generating qualified opportunities by identifying, engaging, and nurturing prospects. This position is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in sales or lead generation who thrives on building relationships and helping prospects understand how our services can solve their challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, and Leadership to convert interest into meaningful sales conversations—ultimately contributing to the company's growth. This role provides a strong growth path into a business development leadership role or field sales executive. 

Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Lead Generation & Qualification
    • Research and identify prospective clients using CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and prospecting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Outreach)
    • Qualify leads and execute outbound prospecting and endeavors via email, phone, and social channels. Will support both Ippon Direct and Partner co-selling efforts.
    • Engage technical and business stakeholders to uncover needs and schedule meetings for senior sales executives
    • Follow up on leads and campaign responses with personalized outreach

    • Sales Support & Operations
    • Maintain accurate records of activity and pipeline in CRM platforms in HubSpot and Salesforce
    • Support proposal and pitch material preparation for strategic opportunities
    • Align closely with Marketing to support campaign execution and ensure timely lead follow-up

    • Process Improvement & Growth Enablement
    • Stay up to date on Ippon’s service offerings, go-to-market strategy, and industry trends to effectively position solutions with prospective clients.
    • Contribute to the development and refinement of outbound messaging and prospecting playbooks
    • Track activity and success metrics, assisting with performance reporting and forecasting
    • Shadow client meetings and learn the consultative sales process to grow into senior sales, account-facing, or leadership roles

    • Industry Awareness & Collaboration
    • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market shifts relevant to our core offerings
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share prospect feedback and optimize the buyer journey
    • Participate in team learning, knowledge sharing, and sales enablement initiatives

Competencies we are looking for:

    • Minimum Qualifications:
    • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or lead generation (preferably in B2B or consulting)
    • 3+ years of proven success in outbound and/or inbound prospecting and lead qualification
    • Demonstrated ability to engage technical buyers such as IT, Engineering, or Data leaders
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with message tailoring based on the audience
    • Comfortable with cold outreach and persistent follow-up strategies
    • Proficient with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and prospecting platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, Outreach)
    • Highly organized, self-motivated, and coachable, with strong time management skills

    • Preferred Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • Experience in a technology consulting, cloud services, or data-centric organization
    • Familiarity with cloud platforms (especially AWS) or modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks)
    • Understanding of software development, digital transformation, or data architecture concepts
    • Exposure to enterprise or mid-market sales cycles is a must as we focus on enterprise size clients. Experience in the Financial Services is a plus - Banks, Capital Markets, Insurance. 
    • Knowledge of consultative sales frameworks and best practices

$65,000 - $75,000 a year
This role is eligible for commission.
