In Australia, our team works very closely together in order to make this happen across our practices of Experience Design and Product, Software Engineering and Cloud and Data Driven Architectures. We are a small, close knit group who have a shared interest in creating a great place for us all to work, learn and enjoy.

About the role
As we embrace the next phase of growth at Ippon Australia we are expanding our Experience Design practice and looking for talented Experienced Designers who want to make this happen. You’ll be empowered to be involved in the end-to-end process including research, ideation & interaction design through to prototyping, user testing & iterative visual design.

On a daily basis you should expect to:

    • Understand product specifications and user psychology
    • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback
    • Create personas through user research and data
    • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success
    • Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs
    • Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability)
    • Work with UI developers to implement attractive designs
    • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers
    • Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
    • Have fun!

The skills and experience we need are:

    • Skilled in various design techniques such as wireframing, sketching, prototyping and the development of UI assets
    • Experience in using design software (e.g. Figma, Sketch, InVision)
    • Confident in journey mapping and experience in running workshops
    • Knowledgeable about Design Thinking, Human Centred design and experienced in working in an agile project environment.
    • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
    • Experience is user research and usability testing is a plus
    • Uses data and analytics to assist in solving design challenges
    • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
    • A learning growth mindset

Nice to have skills:

    • Proven experience as an Experience Designer
    • Strong portfolio of design projects
    • Background in project management and research
    • Familiarity with interaction design and information architecture
    • Proficient in design software (e.g. Zeppelin, Sketch, Figma)
    • Knowledge of HTML/CSS; JavaScript is a plus
