Key Responsibilities of Role:-
Food Safety:
• Supporting the Quality Systems Lead in the sites HACCP, TACCP and VACCP programme programme in implementation in the factory
• Implement the standard created by the Quality Systems Lead and Hygiene Manager in the sites allergen management programme
• Completion of food safety based risk assessments with the support of the Quality Assurance Lead.
 
Audits:
•    Be part of the sites external audits and visits, including 3rd party and customer
•    Support of implementation and enhancement of Audit Ready Everyday culture
•    Support the completion of the Inspection programme
•    Lead the closure of non-conformances raised through external or customer audits.
 
 
Control of Products:
•    Ensure retained samples and micro samples are managed effectively
•    Manage the process for the release of all raw materials and finished products
 
Product standards:
Ensure the quality of product produced meets our specifications by (but not limited to)
Ensuring sensory evaluation of product is completed
QC checks are completed and accurately recorded in accordance to the procedure
Microbiological and chemical testing is completed for non-batch and by batch customer     requirements
 
Good Manufacturing Practices:
•    Working closely cross functionally to drive improvements in factory standards
•    Ensuring the production teams understand the required standard within the production and associated areas
•    Supporting the Quality team in the timely completion of audits
•    Managing the sites ‘audit ready’’ status daily
 
Incident and Crisis Management:
•    Support the sites root cause analysis to prevent any reoccurrence of issue 
•    Support the Quality teams in the investigation and resolution of issues raised.
•    Manage incidents with the support of the Quality Manager
•    Support the Quality Systems Lead in the completion of regular mock recalls; 

 
Non-Conforming Products
•    Support the Quality team in decision making of product that is outside of the specified limits
•    Report KPI’s to internal and central functions as required
•    Correct escalation to Quality Manager and to support the escalation to the central food safety       teams where required.
 
Managing People
•    Conduct appraisals and regular 121 sessions with direct reports to support, coach and develop
•    Conduct absence and conduct disciplinaries
•    Complete annual development plans with direct reports to support progression
 
Project Management
•    Lead projects that are relating to Food Safety and Quality 
•    Develop projects that are significant in the continuous improvement of the site.
•    Effectively use the Continuous improvement tools in order to manage projects and planned improvements
 
Calibration 
•    Verify & Support Ops material testing (calibration, provision of gold standards, etc)
 
Qualifications & Skills Required: -

·       Proficient written, numerical, and verbal skills
·       Fluency of English language 
·       Numerical ability to record, interpret and analyse key process data
·       Food Hygiene / HACCP Level 3 or equivalent
·       Has a data based approach to decision making
·       Proficient in the use of MS Office tools. 
·       Understanding of Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in both low/high care food manufacturing environments.
·       Able to work cross functionally
·       To show flexibility in cross shift working
·       Able to meet deadlines
