The Manager of Electrical Engineering is responsible for leading the development of new and continuous improvement projects related to our automation system’s electrical architecture, electronics control units and components.  The candidate is responsible for helping shape and interpret high-level customer and product stakeholder requirements, working with the team to understand required functionality and build and execute against implementation roadmaps. Ultimately, this leader will support the execution by directing high level efforts, removing barriers, evaluating completed work, and sharing/communicating progress. This leader ensures that we develop designs that meet product performance and cost requirements within budget and on schedule.

Specific Responsibilities:

-Provide high level technical and people leadership to the electrical team
-Develop and maintain EE technical vision, leveraging input from customers, vendors, and other technical and non-technical stakeholders
-Work with hardware team members and dedicated program managers to define accurate project schedules for complex electrical engineering projects.
-Investigate new technologies and solutions for our system
-Drive delivery of aggressive goals by managing project schedules, product features, performance, cost, and resources effectively
-Confirm that implementation satisfies all safety requirements
-Ensure the team is appropriately resourced to deliver on product goals
-Hire and build out the EE  team accordingly.
-Anticipate and communicate project risks and mitigations
-Effectively communicate status with stakeholders regarding deliverables, timelines, and budget.
-Develop strong working relationships with adjacent development teams to improve efficiency and collaboration.
-Provide mentorship to improve team effort estimation and early risk identification/mitigation skills.
-Ensure that comprehensive deliverables are completed per ISEE’s product development processes and provide feedback to process owners to support continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

-8-10+ years hands-on experience in Electrical Engineering, including technical team leadership, scheduling, resource planning and budgeting, ideally within an automotive and/or robotics product development team.
-Experience building alignment and excitement around projects.
-Experience with preparing internal documentation in anticipation of engaging with contract manufacturers
-Exposure to the requirements of structures interacting with autonomous systems and/or robotics - specifically with control, and/or warehouse management systems is a big plus.
-Dedicated servant leader, able to provide clear priorities, and be hands on as needed to ensure successful delivery
-Ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment and constructively influence team decisions.
