ispace Europe is seeking, a highly motivated and talented Project Managerto join our team. 
 
Our vision is to expand and sustain humanity’s presence in space by developing a lunar economy built on the resources available on the Moon.  
 
As the regional office of ispace inc., we are creating the first lunar resource exploration service by developing ispace’s next generation rovers that will prospect for lunar water and other resources. We are a small, international team motivated by the challenges of the Lunar Frontier and determined to achieve the company’s vision. 
 
This is a unique opportunity to join a truly fascinating project to explore resources on the Moon. In this role you will join a small international team of engineers and will be primarily involved in the production and verification of our Micro Rovers and Exploration Rovers. 
 
The Project Manager will be responsible for project life cycle planning and execution of technology development projects. 
 
The position is based in Luxembourg and reports to the MD/Engineering Manager (CTO Group). It will closely collaborate with ispace EUROPE’s team members. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Prepare bidding documentation to acquire projects in the field of Lunar Exploration Platforms, describing project objectives, scope of work and work breakdown structure, required resources and implementation approach.

    • Assess required skills and evaluate resources to execute projects. Estimate budgets accordingly, including personnel costs, travel, capital expenditures, etc.

    • Lead contractual negotiations with customers, facilitating clarification and resolution of possible discrepancies.

    • Ensure proper ramp-up of project activities, communicating objectives, project due-dates and responsibilities in a clear and effective manner.

    • Prepare project plans describing the main activities to be performed and their duration. Monitor activities and identify deviations to the nominal path.

    • Coordinate project activities and resources as normal work. Based on project objectives and due dates, decide on priorities, and ensure timely resolution of issues.

    • Based on agreed budgets, monitor labour costs and other project expenditures to avoid cost overruns.

    • Identify project risks and estimate their probability and potential impact. Devise possible mitigation actions. Decide on risk criticality and need for mitigation. For critical risks, monitor mitigation actions and risks evolution.

    • In coordination with Procurement Lead, ensure alignment of supply chain with project needs.

    • In coordination with Quality Lead, identify options for improvement and propose corrective actions.

    • Act as the main interface towards the costumer. Ensure customer satisfaction while avoiding unjustified scope-creep.

    • In the context of customer reviews, prepare relevant documentation including plans, presentations, progress reports and contracts closure documentation.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

    • Masters in an Engineering Discipline (Aerospace, Mechatronics, Tele-Communications or similar). Minimum of 5 years of experience in Project Management in the Aerospace Industry.

    • Experience in writing documentation.

    • Familiar with project management methodologies, including estimation of budgets, generation and monitoring of project plans, assessment of risks, etc.

    • Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner at different levels.

    • Ability to think analytically, understand the big picture, establish the dependencies between seemingly unrelated topics and thereby maximize synergies.

    • Ability to prioritize effectively, make decisions accordingly and delegate when necessary.

    • Ability to negotiate effectively, explore alternatives and generate win-win scenarios.

    • Sound understanding of main factors driving success in Aerospace projects.

    • High level of proficiency in the English language is mandatory.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience with space flight hardware
    • Knowledge of systems engineering practices, fabrication, integration processes, quality and configuration management systems
    • Experience with successfully engaging and collaborating with distributed teams
