Spacecraft Avionics Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Spacecraft Avionics Systems Engineer with a background in RF. As part of the Avionics team, your mission will be to make sure our lander's avionics architecture is the best platform to work with for our payload customers as well as ispace's internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

    • Support make-or-buy trade-off studies for avionics units
    • Define subsystem or unit-level verification tests, ensuring verification coverage of avionics units and interfaces within avionics team
    • Ensure compatibility of electrical interfaces within the Avionics team
    • Be the technical point of contact for Japanese RF units vendors
    • Ensure compliance with Japanese radiofrequency regulatory processes
    • Support testing and troubleshooting of avionics units
    • Support System integration, test and non-conformance investigation and resolution
    • Support mission operation tasks and troubleshooting.

Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in a Electrical Engineering or related field and 5 years experience
    • Solid knowledge of spacecraft avionics
    • Experience in requirements analysis and specification writing
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Proficient written and spoken Japanese and English required

Preferred Qualifications

    • Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related field
    • Experience with a variety of launchers or spacecraft mission types and architectures
    • Experience with spacecraft RF subsystems
    • Fair knowledge of other spacecraft disciplines and equipment
The position is based in Tokyo- Japan, with testing activities to be performed in our offices, and flexible work location and hours the rest of the time.
