As the advanced research & development (ARD) Lunar Scientist engineer, you will participate in projects focusing on lunar exploration and sustainable extraction of lunar resources.

Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct lunar resource studies to find sites with specific resources with the greatest likelihoods, and how to extract them.
    • Conduct lunar environment studies to identify sites illumination and terrain shadowing, ground stability for drilling operations, slope, etc.
    • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team tasked with selection of landing sites for optimized mission value - depending on mission objectives and payloads, and other constraints such as duration, illumination, terrain, resources to explore, etc.
    • Work on the landing site analysis of on-going missions in ispace JP (e.g. M2 and M6), which includes the evaluation of slope, boulder, and local terrain conditions within a target range.
    • Participate in the implementation of selected R&D projects, either for technology demonstration projects or for servicing customers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills / Experience)

    • BSc. on lunar geology or related
    • 3+ years of experience in lunar geological analysis (or similar/related)
    • Experienced on lunar topography and geology
    • Proficient with statistical analysis tools and used to working with large datasets

Preferred Qualifications

    • Msc. on lunar geology or related
    • Experience on lunar mineralogy and selenology
    • Proficient with software development tools, preferably python
    • Knowledgeable with celestial dynamics simulations, considering sun illumination and direct-to-earth link
    • Publications on lunar geology / mineralogy on relevant journals/conferences
