ispace Europe is seeking, a highly motivated and talented General Accountant to join our team.

Our vision is to expand and sustain humanity's presence in space by developing a lunar economy built on the resources available on the Moon.

As the regional office of ispace inc., we are creating the first lunar resource exploration service by developing ispace's next generation rovers that will prospect for lunar water and other resources. We are a small, international team motivated by the challenges of the Lunar Frontier and determined to achieve the company's vision.

This is the unique opportunity to join a truly fascinating project to explore resources on the Moon. In this role, you will join an international team of engineers.

Reporting to the EU Finance Manager, the successful candidate will lead our accounting functions, ensuring compliance with Luxembourg GAAP and regulatory environments, managing daily invoices, collaborating with external accounting firms (tax filings, complex accounting topics), helping other Finance functions, and supporting process and system enhancements. This role will further evolve alongside the growth of ispace.

The position is based in Luxembourg and is a full time Accounting position available immediately. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • 1. Manage Daily AP Process: 
    • Oversee invoices management, approval, and payments.
    • Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and policies.
    • Collaborate closely with Purchase team.

    • 2. Manage Accounting Preparation:
    • Assist in monthly financial statement preparations and quarterly reporting.
    • Contribute to period-end activities, forecasting, budgeting, and group reporting.

    • 3. Coordinate with Key Partners:
    • Collaborate closely with external advisors for complex accounting entries and tax filings.
    • Ensure seamless integration of external expertise with internal processes.
    • Report Accounting information to Japan-based holding company.
    • Assist ispace Internal audit and HR.

    • 4. Support Process and System Enhancements:
    • Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and systems.
    • Contribute to the implementation of enhancements for efficiency and accuracy.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    • Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.

    • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of Luxembourg GAAP and applicable Luxembourg and European regulatory environments.
    • Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.

    • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to work with a focus on accuracy and quality.
    • Communication: Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
    • Collaboration: Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and external partners.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Experience working in the Space industry.
    • Knowledge of Project cost accounting approach.
    • Previous involvement in process improvements or system implementations.
    • Familiarity with common ERP systems and financial software.
