The Assistant Manager – Ticketing & Merchandising plays a critical dual-role in ensuring smooth execution of two major verticals within the Brand Experience & Events team: Ticketing Operations and Merchandise Management. This individual will oversee all end-to-end ticketing requirements for major sports and entertainment properties under the JioStar portfolio, while also leading the planning, production, inventory, and distribution of official merchandise across the organization.
The role requires a highly organized and collaborative professional with strong operational acumen,stakeholder management skills, and the ability to manage high-volume logistics under tight deadlines. The role involves team supervision, external agency/vendor coordination, and strict adherence to SOPs.
The Ticketing & Merchandising team at JioStar forms an integral part of the Brand Experience & Events. On the Ticketing front, the team is responsible for managing the GEM Portal—an internal system that facilitates ticket access for employees across personal and business. The team handles the end-to-end coordination of ticket procurement and distribution, covering all contractual commitments and internal business needs. With close collaboration with external stakeholders like the BCCI,ICC, BookMyShow, and Insider, and internal departments like Partnerships,Sales, Marketing and Content, the team ensures that every requirement is well-planned and executed with accuracy and accountability. From allocating high-stakes hospitality tickets to managing ground-level logistics at multiple venues, the team delivers an experience that's professional, timely, and escalation-free.
On the Merchandising front, the team is entrusted with managing the entire merchandise lifecycle—from creative development and vendor management to production, distribution, and stock reconciliation. This includes developing merchandise for internal stakeholders,media meet, brand activations, corporate gifting, fan giveaways, and promotional marketing campaigns. The team works closely with multiple departments such as Brand, Marketing, HR, and Sales to consolidate requirements
Key Responsibilities
- This is a mid-managerial role that contributes to high-visibility projects across marquee properties like IPL, ICC World Cups, BCCI matches, Pro Kabaddi League, Indian Super League, Wimbledon, and more. The candidate will be responsible for leading the Ticketing Management and ensuring effective management of internal GEM portal, disbursement logistics, stakeholder communication, and compliance reporting
- In parallel, the candidate will drive the Merchandising vertical, working closely with internal departments to fulfill BU demand, finalize product, coordinate with external vendors, and optimize cost efficiency. This involves overseeing creative development, sample approvals, production timelines, and budgeting — while also managing centralized merchandise records for the JioStar network
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or a related field
- 8-10 years of experience in ticketing or merchandise
- Prior experience managing vendors, handling inventory, and executing ticketing management in a live event/sports environment is preferred
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., Bookmyshow, Insider.in) and production vendors across merchandise categories is a plus
