JOB SUMMARY:
As Principal Group Technical Program Manager – Viewer Experience, you will be at the heart of building personalized, fast, and habit-forming experiences for millions of users. Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering – Viewer Experience, this is a high-impact leadership role that demands both deep technical acumen and organizational savvy. You will drive complex cross-functional initiatives that shape how users discover, navigate, and consume content on JioHotstar.
You’ll operate across the org — spanning Personalization, Search, Watch Experience, Loyalty Systems, Sports & Community Engagement, and Platform Foundations — influencing technical direction, aligning priorities, and delivering programs that push the boundaries of scale, quality, and innovation.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
At JioHotstar, the Technical Program Management team in the Viewer Experience (VX) org plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing high-impact programs that define how users discover, engage with, and return to our platform. Working closely with engineering, product, design, and data science teams, we orchestrate cross-functional initiatives that cut across personalization, search, watch experience, loyalty systems, and platform foundations. We are relentless in refining execution rhythms, aligning priorities across diverse teams, and proactively managing risks to ensure timely delivery at scale. Our mission is to enable a fast, personalized, and habit-forming product experience — one that turns first-time users into lifelong fans.
As the Principal TPM for the Viewer Experience org, you will lead the TPM function across multiple pods, setting the gold standard for structured execution, deep technical alignment, and risk-aware decision-making.
REPORTING TO: Executive Director
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Own large-scale, cross-organizational programs spanning multiple surfaces and backends - from always-on reliability systems to personalized discovery and content delivery at scale
- Mentor and lead a team of TPMs across the org, providing clarity, structure, and thought leadership on planning, prioritization, and execution
- Seamlessly transition between strategic planning and technical depth, working with senior engineers and product leaders to align goals, drive architectural clarity, and manage complex dependencies
- Think ahead and plan for risks - evaluating alternate approaches, quantifying trade-offs, and proactively structuring mitigation paths and communication plans
- Drive GTM-readiness and stakeholder alignment, ensuring key initiatives are not just delivered, but launched with clarity, impact, and measurable business outcomes
- Champion best-in-class program management practices across the org from goal-setting to postmortems and be a systems thinker who improves how the entire org executes
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Deep technical understanding of consumer-scale systems, with the ability to dive into architecture reviews, ask second-order questions, and push for scalable, resilient solutions
- Strong leadership and organizational influence, with a track record of guiding TPMs and cross-functional teams across multiple domains
- Highly structured thinker with the ability to break down ambiguous goals into executable plans, identify blind spots, and push for clarity in both direction and detail
- Strong grasp of risk/reward tradeoffs, and comfort operating in fast-moving, high-stakes environments with shifting priorities and evolving context
- Exceptional communicator, skilled in managing stakeholder expectations and aligning diverse teams on shared timelines, goals, and impact
- Experience with GTM planning, coordination with marketing, ops, and support functions for high-visibility launches is a strong plus
- Expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools like JIRA, Confluence
- Experienced in leading and developing teams
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor's/Master’s degree with a minimum of 15 years of experience, including 10 years in a Program Management role within the consumer technology sector
