JOB SUMMARY:
As a Senior Staff Technical Program Manager, you will lead media programs, influencing the teams' roadmap priorities and technical direction. This role combines strong technical understanding, program leadership, and agile delivery excellence. You will own end-to-end execution of critical programs, influence roadmap direction, manage cross-team dependencies and senior stakeholders, and mentor teams to raise execution maturity across the organization.
ABOUT THE TEAM:
At JioHotstar, the Technical Program Management team in the media org plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing high-impact programs that define how users discover, engage with, and return to our platform. Working closely with engineering, product, design, and data science teams, we orchestrate cross-functional initiatives. We are relentless in refining execution rhythms, aligning priorities across diverse teams, and proactively managing risks to ensure timely delivery at scale. Our mission is to enable a fast, personalized, and habit-forming product experience — one that turns first-time users into lifelong fans.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and collaboration
- Lead large, complex technical programs from planning through delivery independently
- Influence roadmap priorities by aligning stakeholders on objectives and outcomes
- Coordinate across engineering, product, and business teams to manage dependencies and ensure timely execution
- Facilitate cross-pod collaboration and alignment to maintain delivery momentum
- Proactively plan for and mitigate risks, evaluating alternatives, quantifying trade-offs, and structuring communication plans
- Apply Agile methodologies for iterative delivery, adaptive planning, and continuous improvement
- Coach teams on Agile best practices and foster high Scrum maturity
- Maintain sprint cadence and rigor through reviews, retrospectives, and OKR alignment
- Drive pod-level accountability for JIRA hygiene, analytics reporting, and milestone tracking
- Ensure data-driven decision-making using clear metrics, dashboards, and visual progress reporting
- Regularly communicate program updates, decisions, and risks to leadership concisely and visually
- Continuously improve internal processes to enhance team efficiency and delivery velocity
- Act as a mentor for junior TPMs and team members to scale program management maturity
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES FOR SUCCESS:
- Deep technical understanding of scalable systems, with the ability to dive into architecture reviews, ask second-order questions, and push for scalable, resilient solutions
- Highly structured thinker with the ability to break down ambiguous goals into executable plans, identify blind spots, and push for clarity in both direction and detail
- Strong grasp of risk/reward tradeoffs, and comfort operating in fast-moving, high-stakes environments with shifting priorities and evolving context
- Exceptional communicator, skilled in managing stakeholder expectations and aligning diverse teams on shared timelines, goals, and impact
- Strong program management experience managing cross functional initiatives end to end and driving influence without authority
- Expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) and tools like JIRA, Confluence
PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- A Bachelor's/Master’s degree with a minimum of 12 years of experience, including 3 to 4 years in a Program Management role within the consumer technology sector
