The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing state-of-the-art solutions for Private Wireless Networks using various tools to build a network and dimension a system able to provide optimal coverage and capacity to a specific venue. The end-to-end design will encompass both RF dimensioning and network architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Dimension the RAN, Core, Network Elements, radios, and passive infrastructure.
- Develop and dimension cellular coverage and capacity solutions using different simulation tools, primarily for Wireless Private Network projects.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to create conceptual designs and ROM during the Initiate phase of a project.
- Provide preliminary RF designs (e.g., iBwave/Atoll) during the Design phase of a project.
- Produce all necessary documentation to support design approval, including the list of active and passive materials (BOM), network schematics, and equipment schematics.
- Incorporate field feedback and update the design towards an as-built state, collaborating with Project Engineers during the Design/Construction phases (e.g., value engineering).
- Stay updated with evolving technologies, keeping pace with the latest mobile cellular standards and solutions.
- Handle low-level network design, including creating diagrams with switches, firewalls, connections to the core, RAN, and monitoring systems.
