Job Summary:

Hands on Process / Electronics & Controls Technician will work with a multi-discipline team to Maintain, Troubleshoot, Implement and Support new and existing equipment.  This position reports to the Process Engineering Lead.

Responsibilities:

    • Provides “on the floor” technical support as required for process & product issues.
    • Support new product launches in a growth environment.
    • Assist in continuous improvement activities, helping with design, execution & training to increase quality & output while decreasing cost.
    • Performing and/or coordinating with facilities / maintenance, vendors and/or engineers for the installation, preventative maintenance, repair, upgrade or removal of equipment.
    • Assisting in anticipating and/or troubleshooting equipment & process related issues.
    • Assisting in the identification of new process, new equipment.
    • Provide technical assistance to production operations and design engineering in facilitating daily demands and requirements for the continued success of the company.
    • Follow Q&EMS policies, procedures and instructions.
    • Drives continuous improvement in labor costs through waste reduction, production efficiency, and operations improvement.
    • Evaluates, implements & monitor processes for product manufacturing.
    • Aids in maintaining and improving processes, and related metrics, such as production efficiency, cycle times, capacity, capabilities and others as needed.
    • 1st level troubleshoot & maintain PLC programming, HMI & robot programs.
    • Read & understand electrical and CAD drawings.
    • Assist Industrial Engineering with creation, refinement and execution of Manufacturing Assembly Instructions (MAI’s)
    • General assigned duties as required.

Requirements:

    • Associate degree in an engineering field preferred.
    • Must be process oriented with a hands-on, entrepreneurial work ethic.
    • Excellent judgment & problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication & organizational skills are required.
    • Excellent technical writing skills & process understanding.
    • Strong preference given to candidates with an assembly environment.
    • Strong preference given to candidates with hands-on experience in Lean tools and Lean certifications.
    • Self-direction is critical.
    • Microsoft Office suite.
    • Safety glasses required.
    • Comfortable around soldering stations, RF test equipment, electrical, pneumatic & hydraulic equipment.
    • General hand tools, measuring devices, machines and equipment of the department.
    • J-STD-001 and/or IPC Training is beneficial.
    • 70-80% direct manufacturing floor.
    • Must be able to lift to 30 pounds.
$17 - $21 an hour
The US national annual hourly rate for this role is $17-$21 per hour. The range includes the hourly rate that is expected to be paid for this role. The actual hourly rate will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the of scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location.
