We are seeking a highly strategic and detail-oriented Sourcing & Supplier Quality Specialist to lead procurement operations for JMA initiatives. This role will be based in Syracuse, NY and establish best practices in sourcing and purchasing, optimize operational efficiency, and drive cost reduction efforts.

Key Responsibilities

    • Strategic Procurement Leadership
    • Define the vision for the purchasing group.
    • Evaluate roles and responsibilities to align with future growth.
    • Identify and implement scalable tools and processes.
    • Operational Excellence
    • Achieve and maintain standard expected Purchase Price Variance (PPV) across spend.
    • Maintain and create improvements to the supplier on-time delivery rate.
    • Implement dual sourcing strategies for components.
    • Compliance & Risk Mitigation
    • Develop and maintain an Approved Vendor List.
    • Support internal audits and details tracking requirements.
    • Inventory & Documentation Management
    • Ensure all part numbers are systematically established in SAP.
    • Maintain vendor documentation for audit readiness.
    • Secure, manage, and track inventory across locations.
    • Supplier Quality & Performance
    • Track and resolve supplier quality issues.
    • Collaborate with QA on corrective actions.
    • Deliver monthly trend analysis reports.
    • Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) Oversight
    • Own and manage the MRL checklist for sourcing and supplier quality.
    • Drive quarterly improvements and cross-training initiatives.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
    • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement
    • Experience with government compliance and DoD sourcing standards
    • Proficiency in SAP and procurement systems
    • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
$80,000 - $90,000 a year
The US national annual base salary for this role is $80,000-$90,000. The range includes the base salary that is expected to be paid for this role. Actual base salary will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the of scope and complexity of the role, the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, peer and market data and geographic location.
