Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Leading design, development, and enhancement efforts for Wireless/RF Connection and other related products
    • Achieve cost reduction targets on our high-volume Wireless/RF products without sacrificing product quality
    • Design of plastic and metal mechanical components, assemblies, and electro-mechanical packaging using Solidworks
    • Create mechanical engineering design specifications
    • Integral part of new product development teams and work from conception through production by participating in product design reviews and prototyping and modeling designs
    • Create and maintain proper mechanical component validation & documentation
    • Establish capabilities in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) utilizing ANSYS and Icepak simulation tools
    • Establish capabilities in advanced modeling
    • Define development and testing requirements for mechanical design and engineering to ensure quality and reliability
    • Use problem solving and analytical thinking to be both innovative and practical in design approach
    • Follow Q&EMS policies, procedures and instructions, including assisting JMA in minimizing its impact on the environment and preventing pollution through recycling efforts defined in the waste management programs and ensuring chemicals are managed in a manner that prevents spills
    • Apply mechanical engineering best practices during the creation of complex mechanical drawings, parts, and assemblies which meet system-level design requirements


    • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, RF Engineering, or another related field
    • 3-5+ years of experience in 3D mechanical design
    • Minimum of 3 years with proficiency in using Solidworks design software; Formal training in advanced Solidworks modeling and design techniques preferred
    • Experience/knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, mold design & tooling, and production processes
    • Deep understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals including material properties, tolerance analysis, solid mechanics, and thermodynamics
    • Have familiarity with manufacturing processes including PCB fabrication, sheet metal forming processes, CNC machining, plastic injection molding, plastic and aluminum extrusion processes, die casting and electronic assembly
    • Formal training in FEA tools and techniques
    • Be creative and possess superior organizational, interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
    • Thrive while working in a fast-paced environment demanding a proactive, “get it done” approach
    • Have a bias towards learning and bias for action
