Summary
We are seeking a Fractional CFO with extensive experience in the consumer and SaaS startup landscapes.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on strategic partner who can drive financial performance by maximizing profit, optimizing unit economics, and ensuring exceptional ad efficiency.
This role is perfect for a financial expert who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and is passionate about building sustainable, profitable businesses.

What you'll help us with:

    • Strategic Financial Leadership:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the company's growth objectives and maximize long-term profitability.
    • Provide expert financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team to inform key business decisions.
    • Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
    • Advise on fundraising strategies, investor relations, and capital allocation.

    • Profit Maximization & Unit Economics Optimization:
    • Deeply analyze revenue streams, cost structures, and operational efficiencies to identify opportunities for profit enhancement.
    • Develop, track, and optimize key unit economics metrics (e.g., Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Lifetime Value (LTV), Gross Margin per unit/subscriber, Churn Rate).
    • Implement strategies to improve the profitability of individual products/services and overall business lines.
    • Work closely with product and operations teams to embed financial discipline and efficiency into core processes.

    • Ad Efficiency & Performance Marketing ROI:
    • Collaborate closely with marketing and growth teams to optimize advertising spend and maximize return on ad investment (ROAS).
    • Develop sophisticated financial models to evaluate the effectiveness of various advertising channels and campaigns.
    • Provide financial oversight on performance marketing budgets, ensuring alignment with acquisition and profitability targets.
    • Identify and implement strategies to reduce CAC while maintaining or improving customer quality.

    • Financial Reporting & Compliance:
    • Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies.
    • Prepare compelling financial presentations for board meetings, investors, and internal stakeholders.

    • Team Collaboration:
    • Partner with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Product, Sales, Operations) to ensure financial objectives are integrated into departmental goals.
    • Potentially provide guidance to junior finance or accounting staff.

What will help you succeed here:

    • Proven experience as a CFO, Head of Finance, or similar senior financial leadership role, specifically within consumer and/or SaaS startups.
    • Demonstrated expertise in maximizing profitability and optimizing unit economics in high-growth environments.
    • Strong analytical skills with a particular focus on advertising efficiency and performance marketing ROI.
    • In-depth understanding of startup financial operationsProficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
$100 - $175 an hour
