About the role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Planning Manager. This role will be responsible for leading our site level engagement with our partner local authorities. Experience in planning, planning processes, planning problem resolution at a local authority level is a must. This is a standalone role, reporting to the UK Country Manager.

Key Responsibilities

    • Identification of sites that meet JOLT criteria.
    • Prepare individual site sheets for discussions with local authority stakeholders.
    • Create and manage maps.
    • Instruct site survey drawing company and oversee drawing revisions.
    • Prepare and submit planning permission and advertisement consent applications.
    • Prepare/present appeal statements if needed.
    • Maintain precise records of work, including drawing revisions.
    • Attend meetings, providing planning advice.
    • Accompany stakeholders on site visits, offering guidance.
    • Attend external meetings with Local Authority planners, representing the Company.
    • Negotiate with external parties to resolve disputes.
    • Establish strong relationships with key decision-makers in local authorities.
    • Lead planning for new charging infrastructure installations, ensuring compliance.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, policies, and funding related to electric vehicle charging.
    • Collaborate with internal teams for project development, budgets, and timelines.
    • Provide leadership, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
    • Represent JOLT at industry events to promote brand and share expertise in EV charging planning.

About you

    • Degree-level education with a planning qualification.
    • Proven experience in planning and development projects with UK local authorities, specifically in DOOH, transportation or infrastructure.
    • In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system, laws, regulations, and procedures.
    • Strong project management skills, ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple projects.
    • Proficiency in MS Word processing and Works packages.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for engaging stakeholders.
    • Strategic thinker with a successful track record in planning initiatives.
    • Team-oriented leader passionate about sustainability in the transportation sector.
    • Previous experience in a Planning development control team (public or private sectors), preferably with digital out-of-home experience.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills.
    • Capable of self-managing workload with minimal supervision.
    • Innovative problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
    • Commercial awareness and effective negotiation skills.
    • Familiarity with advertisement regulations, planning legislation, and procedures.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
