Salary Range: $40,000-$47,000

The Opportunity: As a Maintenance Coordinator, you will play an important role in enhancing the functionality and safety of our historic building. This position offers the unique opportunity to manage all aspects of the building's maintenance, both internally and externally. Your responsibilities include preserving the building’s rich heritage while ensuring its safety and preparing for future enhancements. You will have a direct impact on the building’s overall effectiveness and compliance with safety standards. Collaborating closely with the Fire Marshal, you will ensure that all city of Durham regulations are met.

Minimum Qualifications

    • Associate degree or related field
    • Degree in Electronics (preferred)
    • General certification in HVAC (preferred)
    • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
    • 5 years minimum experience in construction, maintenance, or related fields
    • Possession of a valid driver's license required

The Strongest Candidates Will Have

    • At least 5 years of experience working in an educational environment.
    • Experience leading and developing detailed and complicated projects.
    • Knowledgeable in local, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures regarding maintenance functions.
    • General knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, roofing, grounds, etc.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.

In This Role, You Will Get To

    • Develop and execute maintenance and construction programs.
    • Determine the needs for emergency renovations, carpentry services, plumbing, electrical, etc. 
    • Supervise and inspect all work performed by contractors.
    • Develop and lead project plans for the building needs.
    • Maintain all records of repairs, and renovations, and schedule preventative maintenance.
    • Work closely with the Director of Operations, Senior Director of Leadership/Principal, and the Executive Director to determine current and future needs.
    • Enforces state, local, and school system policies and standards.
    • Performs follow-up maintenance and service procedures and sub-contractors.

Miscellaneous

    • This is a 12 month full-time, contracted position.
    • The Maintenance Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations.
    • Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Operations, Senior Director of Leadership, or Executive Director as needed.
    • 8 hour work day. Hours may vary.
    • Though rare, hours outside of typical working hours may be required.
$40,000 - $47,000 a year
