Engineering at Jupiter
The Engineering team includes Data APIs, Application Development, Platform and Services Development, Cloud Operations and Security and is responsible for building innovative products and infrastructure for our Climate Score Platform. Jupiter's Engineering team consists of world class engineers with deep background and expertise in building Peta-Scale systems that empowers Machine Learning, Data Science, Advanced Data Insights & Analytics, and Platform for rapid Application development for our flagship products ClimateScore Planning and ClimateScore Global.
This position is in a fast-growing engineering organization created to meet the global demand for local climate and weather information to protect and develop assets, and to manage risk in operations. You will work with data scientists, physical scientists, machine learning specialist and software engineers to implement, interpret, and scale advanced data insights capabilities for our flagship ClimateScore Global product.
-Build Backend Cloud based services for running large scale data analytics workloads
-Enhance and add new loss models and data analytics api to the current platform
-Help build the next version of the apis and the platform using automated pipelines to integrate loss modeling and data by using Amazon EC2, AWS Lambda, Amazon Simple --Queue Service (Amazon SQS), AWS-Batch, AWS-Fargate, Amazon Simple Notification Service (Amazon SNS) etc.
-Enhance scalability and stability of the loss modeling platform and application using elastics storage and compute to hundreds of petabyte of data and storage
-Define and refine new services and external facing APIs
-Excellent programming skills in Python, NumPy, Pandas, GeoPandas, Rasterio
-Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks like Dask and distributed data frames a big plus
-Some exposure to handling and working with large scale data
-Exposure to profiling and scaling services on a cloud based infrastructure
-Hands on experience with auto scaling and its challenges in a distributed environment
-Hands on experience or some exposure to AWS
-Hands on experience or some exposure to Docker and/or Kubernetes
-Experience profiling python based applications
-Experience with Geospatial data a big plus
-Experience with TDD a big plus
-Experience working in a distributed team
-Exposure to Keras and TensorFlow a big plus
