This role is responsible for bringing the layered services for Jupiter’s flagship product, ClimateScore Global, to life. You will be designing the delivery mechanisms for critical components of the ClimateScore Intelligence Platform that help Jupiter put a price on the effects of climate change for individual assets, regions, and corporations. Your UI skills will be brought to bear in designing and implementing both conventional and geospatial interfaces and tooling for internal and external users. You will work with product managers, data engineers, and architects to build and integrate with microservices and design and implement front end experiences that will bring to the market APIs and a SaaS based Web application to our customers.

What You Will Do:

    • Design and build formalized layered services that are production-quality, scalable, and API-based
    • Integrate microservices into the larger platform framework, including integration of supporting data tables with tools such as Snowflake
    • Build front end components and collaborate to integrate them with the backend microservices
    • Build automated tests and adhere to Secure Development practices

    • Good experience with SQL/PL SQL and a willingness to develop deep expertise
    • Strong Python Skills are required
    • Experience with Snowflake and a willingness to develop deep expertise
    • Strong Javascript coding experience--ES9 (ES2018) proficiency or better
    • Experience building and/or maintaining production web apps with React JS
    • API Design best practices
    • Test-driven development experience
    • Experience with AWS or similar for cloud computing, storage, and hosting services
    • Familiarity with API development and documentation tools including Postman and Swagger
    • Not afraid of rebasing
    • Knowledge of Flexbox, Grid layouts
    • Experience with Material Design, MUI (or similar)

    • Advanced knowledge of deck.glmapbox.gl
    • Experience with MUI v5
    • Experience in Selenium
    • Prior Snowflake experience
    • Experience building test suites for automated end to end testing 

Education & Experience

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in computer science, data science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
    • 3-8 years of experience in computer science or software engineering, with full stack development experience
    • Experience with agile software development

At Jupiter we value transparency and have a compensation plan where your full time salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Base Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. As of the date of this posting, In addition to your salary, Jupiter Intelligence offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: Health, dental, and vision plans; wellness program; flexible spending accounts; 401(k) retirement plan; employee stock purchase plan; life insurance, short-term disability insurance, and long-term disability insurance; Employee Assistance Program; PTO; and employee-paid critical illness and accident insurance.

For this role you can expect salary to range as follows: $120,000 - $190,000
