The Senior 2D Animator is responsible for leading and overseeing the animation of all characters in the game, ensuring that our games feature exceptional character animations and bring our game worlds to life. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the animation style, quality, and storytelling within our games.

This role is a full-time, on-site position based 5 days a week at our Downtown Vancouver studio.

In this role, you can expect to be involved in:

    • Character Animation Design and Creation:
    • Oversee the design and creation of character animations, including character movements, facial expressions, and cinematic sequences.

    • Artistic Vision Alignment:
    • Ensure that animations align with the game's artistic vision and style, enhancing the player's immersion and engagement.

    • Storytelling through Animation:
    • Champion the use of animation as a powerful storytelling tool, helping to convey character personalities, emotions, and narrative elements.

    • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with writers, directors, and designers to ensure that animation serves the game's storytelling objectives.

    • Best Practices Development:
    • Work with the Art Director and Art team to design, implement, and communicate best practices to the entire art production team.

To be successful in this role, your background includes:

    • Undergraduate degree or college diploma (or equivalent) in a related field (3D animation, traditional animation, film, tv production, computer graphics, etc.)
    • 8+ years working in mobile or console game development. 
    • Experience developing automated animation systems, developing tools and pipelines.
    • Advanced experience with animations, schematics, rigging and setups.
    • Problem solves all technical issues involving animation.
    • Experience with Motionbuilder and Maya animation tools
    • Experience with Unity is a plus.

$98,880 - $123,600 a year
The typical hiring range listed above is specific to candidates located in Vancouver. The salary will be determined based on your knowledge, skills and competencies, and you’ll have room to grow after you join!
