The Opportunity
We are looking for a Principal Engineer with experience building and shipping enterprise software. As a Principal Engineer at Kandji, you will lead development and innovation with our proprietary agent and suite of applications. Principal Engineers have the opportunity to deliver and define strategic Kandji business-level objectives and key components of our research and development projects.
How you will make a difference day to day
- Hands on coder with ability to architect and contribute code for new features and proof of concepts
- Create architectures and high-level designs to meet our strategic objectives that are flexible and enable many options in the future without 100% clarity on what that future is
- Identify technology and strategic growth opportunities that enable Kandji to grow as a business and rally the organization behind these choices by providing clear rationale and technical vision.
- Become an authority on the technologies of your team with the ability to answer questions to guide other developers and inform business management
- Collaborate cross functionally with distributed teams; much of our workforce is remote
- Work closely with engineering counterparts on other projects to ensure consistent architecture and product alignment
- Help drive quality by working with teams to promote modularized code that is testable, performant, and easy to maintain with multi-staged validation plans
- Design and deliver systems that require research on what is 'possible' rather than simply relying on past experience
- You will have the opportunity to work on exciting greenfield projects, contributing to the development of new and innovative solutions from the ground up.
We’d love to hear from you if you have
- 8+ years professional engineering experience with modern languages and frameworks
- Experience building user interfaces with modern frameworks and libraries
- Experience working with device management
- Experience with low-level system programming, including APIs for application interaction with operating system services and component-based software models.
- Familiarity with operating system security models, including user privilege management, authentication mechanisms, and access control policies
- Experience with OS-level scripting languages for automation and management tasks, including system configuration and process orchestration
- Experience with secure code signing practices and developing system-level drivers, including managing kernel-level interactions and hardware integration
- Experience with system event logging, monitoring frameworks, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and performance analysis
- Experience working in Agile software development team and familiarity with build processes and best dev practices such as TDD / CI / CD
- Required to work on-site 5x a week in our Miami office (Coral Gables).
Nice to haves, but NOT required
- Experience in the enterprise security space
- Ability to say “I don’t know, but will find out” with the confidence in your abilities to deliver that unknown answer
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
