The Opportunity

As a Director of Engineering, you will oversee software engineering teams focused on Kandji’s suite of products. You will work closely with the VP of Engineering to support hiring efforts and organizational planning of our San Fransisco office, as well as mentor team members and guide their professional growth. 

You will work with the Product team to help define agile processes and roadmaps, and make sure the team is operating smoothly. You will monitor the progress of new developments and help to unblock or support team members as necessary.

How you will make an impact day to day

    • Accountable for quality and predictability of your team’s projects
    • Work alongside your aligned Director of Product to create roadmaps and track initiatives
    • Help refine agile development processes to keep each squad running smoothly
    • Help to unblock the engineering team when necessary
    • Maintain the organizational roadmap to build out the team
    • Recruit and support engineering team members at a rapid paceTrain, assist and mentor Engineering Managers and Staff Engineers
    • Manage employee career growth and professional development

Minimum Qualifications

    • Managed a team of >20 for more than 2 years
    • 3+ years of experience managing managers
    • Strong development background and technical knowledge
    • Does well with a high level of responsibility and autonomy
    • Successfully recruited and mentored strong managers and developers
    • Great track record and retention rates on engineering teams
    • Experience partnering with cross-functional leaders to define goals and roadmaps
    • Experience with different org structures and agile methodologies

Compensation

    • The pay range is $260,000 - $333,000/year plus generous equity. Base pay is only one component of total compensation here. We are happy to discuss this range further, including our total offering and generous benefit package.
