Kano HQ, London

The Job

Kano is moving into a hyper-growth phase as it breaks into the mass market and is looking for a highly motivated operator to join its growing team. The position places the candidate in the centre of the action with responsibility to maintain business-critical functions and make an impact from day one. We’re looking for an enthusiastic problem solver who doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty, juggling multiple areas of responsibility, and instinctively seeks to find more efficient ways of doing things. If you want to see from the inside what it takes to scale a fast-growing start-up into a global category leader and work with 60+ geniuses along the way, we want to hear from you.

    • One of Fast Company's Most Innovative Consumer Electronics companies alongside Apple, Amazon, Google, Microsoft, XIaomi and more
    • In just over three years, we’ve sold, built and shipped over 150,000 kits to 86 countries

    • Our products are used in over 1,000 code camps, schools and libraries worldwide, helping to change the face of education. Kano has raised $15m from the world’s best technology investors, including co-founder Saul Klein, Breyer Capital, Collaborative Fund, Jim O’Neil, James Higa & Troy Carter
    • Our fans and customers include tech luminaries like Steve Wozniak (co-founder Apple Computer), Jimmy Wales (founder Wikipedia), Marcus Persson (creator of Minecraft), and many more
    • Our most popular product is the Computer Kit, and in 2016 we launched three new products to the Kickstarter community

    • Monitor and manage worldwide B2B and B2C order flow and customer fulfilment across our multiple sales channels, including online, education, and big box retail
    • Manage Kano’s daily relationship with its fulfilment centres, all third-party logistics systems, e-commerce platforms, and EDI connections; troubleshoot problems and communicate with relevant teams accordingly; ensure accurate and timely delivery of all orders across channels
    • Liaise across the supply chain from manufacturing in China to field sales teams in the US and EU, provide administrative support where necessary
    • Maintain accurate visibility of inventory for the wider organization; you will be the first point of call for any query asking where things are and where they’re going
    • Identify and implement projects that will improve customer experience and minimize operational cost and complexity
    • Proactively provide reporting and analysis on areas of responsibility and as required

    • Prior experience in an operational role; specific experience with e-commerce or retail logistics preferred
    • Strong numeracy skills
    • Independent and analytical problem solver with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Crystal clear communicator in person, over the phone, and in writing
    • High degree of proficiency in Excel/spreadsheets
    • Experience with 3PL/EDI systems, Shopify, Amazon, Salesforce, SQL, Xero, and inventory management packages a major plus but willingness to learn a requirement
    • Consistently positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to go the extra mile
