As the Sales Director for Data Centers, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and market penetration of our data center solutions as we expand our presence in the data center space (1 - Electric Power Utilities, 2 - Data Center Owners, Operators & Critical Infrastructure Suppliers, 3 – Enterprise, AI, IT & Cloud tenants). As we further develop our solutions to the data center market, this role requires a dynamic seller to penetrate and sell our Data Center solutions.
You will be responsible for building sales strategy, developing customer relationships, and positioning our solutions for the data center industry. This role demands a strong understanding of both telecom infrastructure and data center offerings, as well as the ability to navigate a new market and create a competitive advantage in the growing data center industry.
Job Duties:
- Sell Kelly Telecom solutions and services, with a specialized focus on data center solutions, to various organizations within the electric power, data center, MEP vendor, telecom, cloud, and IT sectors.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to introduce and grow our data center offerings in the market. Identify key market segments, verticals, and potential clients for colocation, Hyperscalers, and related solutions.
- Lead efforts to break into and establish a strong presence in the data center market, leveraging existing telecom capabilities and infrastructure.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with high-value accounts, serving as the primary point of contact and delivering customized data center solutions.
- Drive revenue by prospecting, generating new leads, and building a robust pipeline, while simultaneously fostering personal relationships with potential clients.
- Close new business consistently at or above targets, managing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to contract negotiation and closure.
- Lead negotiations for large-scale data center contracts and agreements, ensuring the terms align with company objectives and provide value to customers. Review and approve proposals, pricing, and other contractual documents.
- Work closely with delivery teams, operations, and engineering to ensure smooth delivery of solutions that meet customer expectations. Provide market feedback to the team on emerging customer needs, technology trends, and competitor activity.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Kelly Telecom competitors and the industry, including market trends, customer needs, and emerging technologies in the telecom and data center sectors.
- Oversee sales forecasting, pipeline management, and reporting. Provide regular updates to the executive team on sales performance, opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Work closely with customer success teams to ensure that new clients are onboarded successfully and that existing customers are satisfied with service delivery. Help resolve any post-sale issues that may arise and drive customer retention.
- Travel regularly within an agreed-upon territory.
Job Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED is required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- 7-10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years of experience in the data center industry.
- Proven track record of successfully introducing and selling new solutions or services into a new market or industry.
- Deep rolodex, proven track record of selling managed services into Co-locators/ Hyperscalers, critical infrastructure vendors (MEP), a plus to have strong understanding of Data Center Architectures, including MEP, white space, colocation, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), edge computing, hybrid IT environments and IT structure.
- Skilled at building strong relationships with new and existing clients.
- Adept at generating new streams of substantial revenue.
- Self-motivated, passionate, and driven to make a significant impact.
- A skilled listener with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong track record of success in B2B sales, especially in complex, enterprise-level sales environments. Expertise in managing long sales cycles and closing large, high-value contracts with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to think strategically and develop innovative sales approaches in a new and competitive market. Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of the data center and telecom industries, including market trends, customer needs, and competitive players. Ability to position our services in a differentiated and compelling way.
- Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), sales forecasting tools, and performance tracking systems.

$110,000 - $120,000 a year
In addition to base salary, this role would have an uncapped sales commission plan, which makes up a large portion of the overall earnings for the role. Additional details to be discussed during the interview process.
