About the role

As an Account Executive you would be responsible for selling the Kentik Network Observability Cloud including Network Monitoring and Analytics, Synthetic Monitoring, and Cloud Product lines. Target customer base would be Enterprise accounts in the mid market space, managing a geographic territory in the Eastern half of the USA that is a hybrid of net new and installed accounts. The focus of this role will be on hunting new business. The ideal location for this candidate is Austin, TX.


    • Drive success of the company's goals and objectives through achieving individual sales quotas
    • Build and manage a sales pipeline through prospecting efforts in the assigned geographic territory
    • Develop and deliver customized sales presentations and products demonstrations, by phone and via online demo
    • Create demand by uncovering business problems and matching them to our solution
    • Sell on value and technical functionality
    • Craft and negotiate enterprise level proposals and contracts
    • Forecast sales activity and revenue achievements accurately through proper use of sales tools
    • Travel will be required once generally acceptable post COVID-19
    • Collaborate effectively and engage various pre/post sales resources including Sales Development Representatives, Market Development Representatives, Solutions Engineers, Account Managers, Partner Account Managers, as well as Legal, Security, Professional Services and Customer Support
    • Build credibility and trust to influence buying decisions


    • Austin, TX candidates preferred
    • 3-5 years of Inside Sales/Mid Market Sales Experience managing a large territory and quickly prioritizing prospects to meet your number
    • General understanding of networking technologies and network architectures (Routing, Cloud, SD-WAN, Synthetics)
    • Experience closing deals up to $1M or more in TCV on a recurring revenue basis and an expert at working a robust funnel
    • Proven track record selling subscriptions Sales models (SaaS, IaaS, Cloud, Storage)
    • Strong pipeline management skills and forecasting of territory performance
    • Proven track record selling high-end software solutions with solutions focused on: Network Performance Management, Application Performance Management, Business Analytics Tools, and Infrastructure Management
    • Bullish about new technology, technically curious, and has the desire and mentality to be a part of a dynamic and fast-paced startup
    • Demonstrated track record of success in achieving/exceeding team quotas
    • Driven by recognition, both monetary and performance-based
    • Knowledge of Enterprise budget cycles, procurement and contract processes
    • Strong references from colleagues, superiors, and customers
    • Willingness to travel if and when needed, work odd hours, and be very available
    • Excellent business writing and presentation skills
    • BS/BA or higher level degree is strongly preferred
